Debbie Cousins's Journal, 31 January 2021

Keto is going well. Lost another half a pound this morning. Not craving food as often as "normal" for me. I'm already starting to miss all the healthy vegetables and the morning navel orange I was having when I was doing low Calorie. Right now, I'm 1.5 pounds ahead of the "expected" weight loss on HealthyWage. When I get about 5 pounds ahead, I may go back to Low Calorie for a week or two. Probably will be alternating Low Calorie and Keto every couple of weeks, I'm thinking.

Made country-style ribs with sauerkraut, apples, onion & apple juice in the Instant Pot yesterday. My husband, who rarely goes back for seconds, couldn't help himself. The sauerkraut had lost all it's "crunch" and melted in your mouth, which he liked. He LOVES sauerkraut and pork, so I was a bit hesitant to try something new, but he said it sounded like it might be "ok," so I went for it. Home run.

We're supposed to get 4-5" of snow today - very unusual for us, because we live under a "snow shelf" here in Richmond.
246.0 lb Lost so far: 13.0 lb.    Still to go: 96.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

@GibJig, I'm not sure of the website. I put "Instant Pot Pork Ribs with Sauerkraut and Apple Juice" into my search engine, and it gave me the recipe. Also has an apple and an onion in it. Just ate some, and it was even better today!

So glad for you! I have a pot of leftover sauerkraut and Italian Sausage from two nights ago in the refrigerator. Think I will put an apple and sauteed onion in it for tomorrow night. Sounds good and helps switch it up just a little. Thanks for the lesson. Glad to hear where you are weight-wise on your 6-month goal. I'm okay too, but higher today.
