** AM I GETTING ENOUGH WATER? **

Want to reduce your weight fluctuations? Want to do a "cleanse" without changing your diet? Want to ensure you're operating at your best?

Water controls blood circulation (lower blood pressure), body temperature (sweat less), removes toxins from the body, plus MANY other functions. It's kinda important.

Think of a sponge. Get it wet and it will eventually dry out completely if squeezed. You can saturate it completely, squeeze it as hard as you can and it will need to be filled up again or it will dry out.

Your body is this sponge.

Now, put that same sponge into a glass and add a little water. Squeeze it out and put it back into the glass and it will easily absorb the rest of the water, but it won't dry out completely because the glass supplies it the water it needs to stay moist enough.

The glass of water is how much water you normally drink in a day.

Let's fill that glass up completely. Wring that sponge out now, put it back in the glass and it runs no risk of drying out. It has a constant supply of water to last for awhile.

This is how much water you should take in.

"But how do I know when I have enough?"

When the glass gets filled, it overflows. If you're taking in "enough" water, you will be running to the bathroom CONSTANTLY. It may be an inconvenience, but poor health is MUCH MORE inconvenient.

Be reasonable though; don't try drinking a quart every hour. That's overkill and your body can't handle it.

Try starting with 1 cup (8oz) every waking hour. That is over a gallon a day for most people! A good place to start...

Personally, I average about 1.5 glasses an hour and have noticed a marked improvement in many aspects of health and functionality since starting to monitor and increase my intake.

Yes, coffee is 99% water. So is soda. I'm talking about water-water. The clear stuff. No flavors. Nothing for your liver or kidneys to need to filter.

Do your body a favor. Give it a break. Help it work the way it was designed to. End the dehydration-rehydration cycle. Be proactive and keep yourself topped off.

Love this! I drink 3000 ml plus a day. That’s clear water. Love it. Clear water = clear pee. Perfect sign to let one know you’re getting enough, give or take. Here’s a funny for yah. Whenever I have a routine urine test, and I place my sample in the rack with the others, my tube is always clear, looks like water. The nurse often jokes and asks me if I really peed or filled it with tap water. 😂 Some tubes look like rust! 🤮😱

Is he spongeworthy?

Probably not. It’s a pretty high standard to meet, after all.

Clear pee should not be the goal though. I think people go overboard. You need some electrolytes to remain inside.

I really need to drink more water. 10 glasses (2.5 liters) seems so be my max. But even at that amount, it takes getting use to. A gallon makes me seriously ill!

Clear pee is a sign of overhydration for a lot of people, which can also knock your electrolytes out of whack. =) We had a "wet sponge theory" in vet school, but it was for something completely different. 😬

Every molecule of water that you drink has been drunk and urinated out many times before. How many times? It's too difficult to calculate, but certainly many times. This "filtered water" includes dinosaurs, ...yes dino pee, because there were so numerous and they hung around for many millions of years. This sublime thought is provided with the hope that it might suppress your appetite today.

OK Chris I’m going to start drinking more water because I preach that all the time and the last week or so I haven’t been drinking enough, and soda is the reason.😬 But I am not drinking a lot before weigh in. 😁 I am off to start tracking my water. Your body needs water for every single thing it does. You slow down the process without it there for cells to grab. Plus, to process the water your body uses calories. I believe it’s hard to get over hydrated. Much easier not to drink enough. Thanks Chris for the push.😊👍👏
