Good morning!

Well, I'm off to a good start on the new project.

Since yesterday, I am 1.5 kilos down, and the numbers behind it are amazing! Check it out! I converted all the percentages to actual weight based on the weigh-in on that day, to make the numbers more comparable.

Weight:
Yesterday: 84.8 kilos.
Today: 83.3 kilos.

Bodyfat:
Yesterday: 11.78 kilos
Today: 10.25 kilos

Muscle:
Yesterday: 69.4 kilos
Today: 69.5 kilos

Water:
Yesterday: 52.8 kilos
Today: 52.0 kilos.

Add them all up (and please remember that much of the water is included in the muscle mass - just adding the numbers will NOT reflect body weight) and consider that I did go "boom-boom" yesterday, and had light meals, and the drop in weight of 1.5 kilos is pretty well accounted for.

To conclude:
Massively down in bodyfat for one day of doing this, down in fluids - which usually affects muscle mass - and UP in muscle mass. Not by much, but this time it is definitely not just water pouring into the muscles.

...

I really needed to see this. I needed to see that there IS a way of dropping some fat.

Yesterday WAS kind of extreme.

Fitbit suggested that I burned 3798 calories throughout the day, and that I took 23,000 steps. That sounds about right. I was very active.

I consumed 600 calories, what I am supposed to do on my Low Cal Days. Do keep in mind that this is part of the plan, and that I in no way is going on a starvation diet or anything crazy like that.

The result speaks for itself.

Since I started late on this - yesterday - for the week, and I want some results fast, I have decided to repeat the calorie intake today. I've set myself up to have a calorie intake of 625 calories.

There will be PLENTY of food for me.

Lunch will be a small baked potato with chili con carne. Dinner is salmon with green beans. Snacks are apples, two of those.

That's all I'm gonna have, and it's gonna be plenty.

This morning I have absolutely zero hunger, even after such a low calorie day. Lunch is in 3½ hours, and I doubt that I will have ANY issues waiting. If anything, I might even push it a little further depending on my work schedule, which I haven't looked at just yet.

...

Today, I didn't make it through my entire walk. I managed 3½ kilometer out of my proposed 5. It started raining hard, and I had to go for shelter at work. Oh well. The upside to that is that I get to save up 90 minutes of comp time, have a quiet morning here at work, and get to write my journal in peace and quiet. I can live with that.

Still, I have managed quite a bit this morning already. The step counter says 6,000 steps out of my 10,000 step daily goal, and I know I will make it. I already have 40 active minutes (of my 30 minute goal) and I have 4.68 kilometers of my 8 kilometer daily goal. The calorie burn says 1,000 of my proposed 2,800. I will make this too, but probably not very much more. That's ok. They can't ALL be 3800 calorie burn days. :)

...

Bedtime came way too late last night. Usually I go to bed at around 8 or 9 PM, since we get up super early - around 4 AM.

Yesterday, it was 10:30 before I got to go to bed. I can clearly tell today that I am behind on my sleep.

I am 100% certain that my tiredness is from lack of sleep, and not lack of calories. I actually feel great. I think I had forgotten how good I feel after a Low Cal Day. It's really an amazing feeling, and it's something I really want to remember.

There is no reason to be scared of Low Cal Days. They make me feel good, feel focused, and they make me drop some fat.

Of course, let's not forget that they HAVE to go hand in hand with days with many more calories, to compensate. Don't ever use it just to starve yourself to weight loss. It's so not worth it.

...

The mission this week is ALSO to have a couple of these days in preparation of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'll have to do these days to the best of my abilities, but I am not sure which curve balls will be thrown at me.

Friday we have an international food festival to attend. Obviously there will be food involved. Duh. It will also be food that is most likely impossible to register in my calorie counter, so I REALLY need to rely on moderation and common sense. I know it's gonna be hard.

Saturday, we have the 1st Halloween party of the year. I have no idea what foods will be there, but it starts in the afternoon and goes on into the night. I know there will be food, booze, sodas, desserts, what-have-you. Also, hard to register, but probably not AS impossible. I will do my best.

My approach for Saturday will probably be to just do what I normally do, register everything and eat within my eating window, but NOT start eating until we get to the party. This way, all the calories can be used at the party, and not on a lunch earlier in the day.

I will also - depending what time food is served - maintain a rule of closing my feeding window. After dinner is over, I will shut down food shop. The rest of the evening it will be diet soda and water. That's it.

Sunday? That's my birthday. I have no idea what we're gonna do there, but I could easily see us going out for dinner. The options here in town are limited, so it'll probably be chinese or pizza. If so, I know I should opt for pizza, and share one - or go for one of my pitas. It's something I can handle without blowing everything.

On a good note - there is a lot going on, and we won't just be sitting at home and this makes me less vulnerable to snacking candies and chocolate and other stupid s**t.

So, today is Low Cal Day. Bring it on.

I'm curious how I'm gonna react to it through the day. I'm confident that it won't be a problem at all, but it's been quite a while since I have done two days like this in a row.

I don't remember having any issues doing that, thought. I should be fine. Also, it makes me not have to worry about cakes on cake day. There simply isn't room. :)

...

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Wife! She made KILLER pants for my Halloween costume. I'll make sure to let you guys see. :)
- Morning coffee.
- My partial walk. It was nice, even if I didn't get to do it all.
- Vacation coming up next week. I need one, badly.

Life is good!

EDIT:
I can tell that I'm kinda hungry today. I think it's BY FAR mostly emotional hunger - the stress of work and everything is getting to me HARD today. A lot of unexpected work related curve balls came at me today. I left early. Long live comp time.

At home I really wanted to eat, but I managed to kill that urge with a thin slice of cheese (8g) and a slice of ham (10g). No biggie. I will end up under 700 calories if all goes as planned. And then I'm done with this silliness for the week. :)

Tonight WILL be a challenge, though I am sure I can do it.
END OF EDIT.
183.6 lb Lost so far: 158.1 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
