Really struggling this week. My grandma turned 91 in the ICU for COVID and is being transferred to hospice for palliative care today since she hasn’t been eating and she’s no longer able to swallow. She’s been in lockdown in her nursing home since March so I imagine that this has been one heartbreakingly lonely year for her. I’m still trying to process everything - it happened so fast.

We tried to video chat but the internet was spotty. Tomorrow the place is allowing us to go in full PPE, one at a time to say goodbye. We’ll have to self quarantine until we can get tested.

are they using the marik protocol for her? massive vitamin d (1k IU per lb) and c. glutathione/NAC for inflammation and to beat the cytokine storm. Zinc to stop the virus replication Google it. It is saving lives.

They administered the steroid pill called Decadron and also an IV anti-viral medication called Remdesivir about a week ago (this can be used during the early start of the symptoms). Unfortunately this didn’t work for her and she needed 13 L/min from the oxygen concentrator due to the COVID pneumonia. She stopped eating and drinking and then four days ago she stopped being to swallow. Her lungs are filling with fluid and her body is directing blood flow from her stomach to the vital organs. Thankfully she is not in any pain. My mom had to make the tough call to put her on palliative care with recommendations from the doctor so that my grandma can be at peace and pain free for the last couple days she has left. If she had been put on a ventilator and feeding tube, they would have to induce a medical coma and there would have been high probability that my grandma would be in physical therapy and unable to walk for the rest of her life due to muscle atrophy if she had survived all that in addition to being in pain. I appreciate the treatment suggestions however, all the vitamins on the world can not help when your organs are failing and you are dying.
