Really great swim yesterday after a week of frustrating fits and starts. Got told that the block was all in my head if I'd gone past it before, and it was. It was almost 70 outside, pool was 86 and I swam in the middle of the afternoon. I made sure I was drinking my water (duh), got away from the holiday food (see multiple pics of spinach back in my life) and decided I was going to get it done before I got in.

Same pool, same current, lowered my heart rate by concentrating on stroke, kept the cadence up, spend most of the session in cardio. Added five minutes at the end just to push a little further. For the initial set 850 strokes per my count. The add on was my cool down, which I've been neglecting.

Didn't walk yesterday, but cleaned up around the house, will take down the tree and lights after Epiphany next weekend. Going for a walk this morning, will probably swim because it's the weekend and I have a feeling that work is going to continue to be nuts in perpetuity. Good problem to have, I guess.

Thinking about making more chickpea pasta tonight. Will see if I can remember that long. I have some ground turkey out and might make some meatballs to go with it. Need some ideas there. Just know they always need flavor added.

Jealous! Would kill for a heated pool. I’m in SoCal which is warmer than most places, but the water is still around 60. Can’t wait to start swimming again! Best of luck in ‘21!

I'm in SoCal, too. I decided to heat the pool and not the house this year, although I won't let it go into the 40's inside. even I have my limits on crazy. I have read a lot of stuff about cold water swimming being good for you, but I am too much of a wimp. it's not the swim itself, it's that I can't warm up enough after. although I'd probably burn a lot more calories that way.
