Can we acknowledge the psychological struggles that can accompany any fitness journey...The sometimes feeling like it's not working..Seeing results and feeling esctatic and everything in between.

We are all on this journey for different reasons and whether you are at a high point or even low point. Acknowledge that, do what you need to to keep going or get back on track. Adopting a whole new lifestyle is not easy especially when you're the trailblazer for those around you or are at it alone on a daily basis.

One of the hardest lessons I have had to learn is that the people I care about and love will not always be my biggest cheerleaders. They absolutely love me and support me but my fitness journey is mine alone. Sometimes they get it and sometimes not so much. I can still love them and I can still remain consistent for me. I need to be my biggest cheerleader 🌱

Absolutely! Yes it does sometimes feel like a lonely journey but we need to rise up to the challenge and become stronger in the process... At least we have our FS family!! ☺️💛

Wonderful post, I’m a firm believer in a holistic fitness journey: you can’t be physically ok if you’re not mentally & even spiritually ok. This is why endorphins from exercise are AMAZING as they’re a natural antidepressant/ feel good hormone. I always recommend exercise if you’re feeling low. Keep pushing, you clearly have a great support structure! 💙

Agreed. This is a very lonely journey for most, and that is why a community like this is so amazing. I showed someone a few "Before and after pics" form FS, and that convinced her to take this journey as well. We are our own biggest enemies, as well as our best own cheerleader. When no one is around, what do we do? What to we think? Today I count myself very blessed to be sober for 3 years and 3 months now. I was sober for 6 years at one stage, and then convinced myself "I can handle just a cider at a braai". Boy, was I wrong. It took me 4 years before I quit again... and that was a VERY long and very hard journey... but there I learned - take it ONE hour at a time. Ask for grace for one hour. Want that chocolate (that no one will know about)? Promise yourself you will wait just one hour... and get busy with something. Then you promise you'll wait one more hour. If it is going to happen; If we are going to fit in that 1 pair of jeans we ALL have (that is now 3 sizes or more too small... it's up to us. And what better place with a community like this to help each other along? Stay honest, stay accountable, and have some grace with yourself. You are doing great! :-)

That’s the point, it’s not easy and we all need to be kind to ourselves & loved ones on OUR journey but it’s great that you can discuss anything here. At this moment I’m at a low point as I am sure many are (because of Christmas eating) but come tomorrow I will have gotten over the weight increase and back to the new normal. Happy New year everyone, let’s keep our journey going. ❤️
