Katsolo's Journal, 20 September 2020

Up a little, no biggie, what's interesting is that my abdomen, which has been puffy for the last week and a half is feeling more normal today and I'm less sore. Ate within my range yesterday even with the pizza and breakfast for dinner again (French toast with egg whites and fiber bread!) which was delicious. I think that itch has been scratched and we'll revert back to normal.

Bed was okay last night. No spasms and the residual pain seems to be localized in a single area on one side. Aspercreme and ibuprofen got me through it with no drama. Did four minutes on the inversion table this morning back at 20 degrees because I don't want to get stuck. See, I can be careful and responsible.

Finally able to swim last night. Still ten notches below normal on current speed, that's fine, it was all about figuring out if I was able to swim. Did some kicks prior, I can do those, but I have to be careful because the water pulsates around me and can twist my torso more than if I'm swimming. 740 strokes (way more than I expected) 9.9 METs and heart rate in the high 120s. I'll do another couple more days at this speed and notch it up again. You have no idea how happy I am to be able to get back in the pool. It's not only that it's been hot, but it really does bring me joy and calm afterward. I'm going to be wearing a bigger suit for a bit as it's easier to get into without tweaking the back. Might try a two piece, dunno, it's the reaching.

Note on mortality, skip if you're easily bored. BF and I both have some hazardous things that we love to do. I need to remember that living life with passion and joy is an important component to being alive. Yes, we've been super cautious with the pandemic, but it's mostly about other vulnerable people in our lives and keeping them safe. Not even really sure what I'm saying here without saying what I don't want to say out loud. Love the people you're with for who they are, support their dreams and know that a life lived in a safe box isn't much of a life at all, but a life well lived can have its own hazards. I'm not going to stop him, he's not going to stop me. All we can do is love one another the best we can while God decides when it's time to call one or the other of us home. Everything is fine, no one is hurt. Always end with I love you. Period.
