Maybe it's not my business, but why do you eat so much fat (especially saturated fat and cholesterol)!? It is not necessary! See key principles of well-formulated ketogenic diet. https://www.virtahealth.com/blog/well-formulated-ketogenic-diet In insulin resistant adults, carbs could be limited to 30 grams per day. Daily protein prescribed in a range between 1.2 and 2.0 g/kg reference weight (close to 80-120 g). Fat would be consumed for satiety (but not more than 80-90 g) especially at weight loss phase. Note that in this scenario, dietary protein is moderate and unchanged, carbohydrate is held constant or only slightly increased in a narrow range, and one’s spontaneous intake of fat increases to sustain satiety as major weight loss transitions into weight maintenance. In short, you should almost double your average daily protein intake and halve your fat intake for weight loss phase in order to get closer to the key principles of a well-formulated ketogenic diet. But even if the ketogenic diet is used properly, it's not the optimal diet for diabetics, especially for a long time. I wish you good luck and good health anyway!

Hi, I looked at the site you suggested, It looks like an interesting and useful site and probably one doctors ought to be suggesting to all type 2 diabetics. Keto/Intermittent fasting can work for diabetics if they are dedicated to learning as much about it as they can. Thanks for the sites you have suggested. I re-set my macros for the age, height, and weight I am now. They came out to 10/70/20. I have been aiming to keep the carbs at 10% or under as my goal. Sometimes I manage that and sometimes I don't, but the A1c has gone from 10.5 to 6.5 in two months time, so my main goal is being accomplished. The secondary goal of weight loss is slower than I like but is happening. I have more energy to use for my gardening and evening walks, I seldom feel hungry, and most of the sugar cravings can be taken care of by occasional Keto fat bombs, so for this old diabetic, this WOE has been a success. Thanks for your concern and suggestions.
