kingkeld's Journal, 06 November 2010

This week I have kind of been slacking on my journals. I relly want to keep writing in there, as I feel that it helps me staying focused on what I am doing.

I think it is a great help to stay on track. Back in the day when I did WeightWatchers, they were always saying that it was essential to show up for the meetings. I always thought it was because that was their income - and I am sure that is ALSO part of the reason - but fact is, at least for me, that once I stopped going, I stopped losing weight.

I feel the same about this journal. As long as I write something significant, I will stay on track and keep losing weight. It is self-motivating.

So back on track doing the journal. It is not like it is that difficult. Just jot down some thoughts related to the Weight Loss Journey, and it will be just fine.

Yesterday, I really had a little more calories than I had planned, though I was far from going overboard. My RDI is 2900, but I have volunteered it down to two thousand as my absolut daily max. I do prefer to keep it around 1500 on a regular basis. I lose a LOT of weight in that zone, and I am pretty comfortable eating there.

However, yesterday things just did not go as planned, food-wise. A little extra get-together at work (with bread and cold cuts) and a change in the dinner menu meant that I almost reached the 2000 calories. I know. Don't freak out. My RDI is 2900. However, it is more the irritation that I did not meet my OWN expectations that annoy me. Don't worry, I will get over that fast.

Today I am visiting my brother to go to his son's birthday party. I have eaten my usual breakfast, and I will find out what I can eat the rest of the day. Wish me luck. I think I will - just in case - bring a little rye bread sandwich I can have, if the rest of the gang wants something bad. I have learned to cope with that just fine.

I will report back tomorrow, letting you know how it went.

Life is good.

Keep writing, please!!! your words are so inspiring! I see we have the same struggles, yet we are trying, I feel like I am not alone when I read your posts. I know when things get tough for me, I write in my journal and it is such a release. So continue, you think people aren't listening, but we are. Also, there are going to be days when we slip up, you got to have them days, we are human, imperfect beings. As long as you do well most of the time, then you are on the right track. The occasional slip up will come. When I slip up, I just try to make up for it the next meal, or next day. You seem to be the same way with your dieting. You are doing a great job, keep up the good work, I am proud of you ; )

Thanks for the encouraging words, C-Girl. I try to make it a point to write EVERY SINGLE day, just I like I do everything else weight loss related every single day. This keep me on a short leash, and with my goal in focus. That really, truly helps me. So the journal is essential. I feel that it helps me share my thoughts here, not just weight loss wise, but also life in general. I will not stop writing. :)
