End of Week update (first week of reopening stage 2)
Average calories 1700
Average weight 110

Today was 107.4 which is an all time low. I started the week with overeating and then cut carbs radically and ran with that for a few days so this is a lot of waterloss I think. Should be seeing it go up a big as I increase my carbs (and therefor also food). But it is all good. And at this weight you really do get a flat stomach LOL.

Did my exercises and used some of my eclectic weight selections. All my leg exercising done for today, gang. Plan on a walk in the sunshine with my husband next.
107.4 lb Lost so far: 78.4 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

You always know how to balance out what you need to do. What an example! You have a lovely collection of weights! I justify that I would use mine more if I had more than one set of dumbells. I have to adjust the weight by screwing the plates on and off. I'm sooo lazy! 😁

Oh my word friend! Nice big drop and congratulations on your new low🤗🤗 I tried my weight bands on and they work 🙌 3 different ones, light, medium and heavy. Great job liv! ♥️💜💚

Great maintenance as always! I like your weight collection- I’d love to get some bands but I’m back to the gym next Monday so I won’t bother for now.

What is an ideal weight for you? I notice a lot of people don't lower their goals when they hit blue and I don't know if it's because they are doing far better than they expected and never set the goal that low because he/she didn't think it was attainable or for some other reason.

I'm at my lowest weight in a long time. I'm lower than goal weight but I don't look like I want. @DP I haven't lowered my goal weight because it's inches I want to change , not weight. My waist measurement is definitely up a couple inches..it's the increase in carb consumption, not calories that gets me every time. I still workout 4xs a week but not same as going to gym... Liv looks like you got this!

Thanks, Diana. I'm looking at my goal weight and I can tell looking at my body that it isn't going to be good. I just wondered- thanks for the response. I know exactly what you mean. In the same way that the inches come off but the weight stays the same from lifting, it seems to easily get put back on without much weight change. Missing the gym, too! I love Liv's progress- seeing the weight for how many calories eaten is encouraging.

How do you know what is the right comfortable weight? When I picked goal I just picked a random round number in the normal BMI category (55 kg). A weight I could not remember ever having been since I have always been a roundish person. As I lose very well cutting carbs I obviously just kept going. So now the dilemma is that I have no experience with being thin. LOL. No one has said I am looking too thin at 110 so I think I am good around here. And it feels good. But since I do random binging... to be 110 on average I actually have to be 109...

Good point, Liv!

@liv Do you know your body frame? Do you have a small, medium, or large frame? This might help you to determine the right weight for you! Here are two websites fyi https://medlineplus.gov/ency/imagepages/17182.htm and https://www.changingshape.com/calculators/ideal-body-weight

I think I am medium framed So 110 is a good weight for my height... on the thin side but still OK I think

Thanks for sharing the links, silkian. I'm big, so they say I can be about 152. The medium is 138. Guess I'm in the middle at 145 and OK with that. Part of me really wishes to less, but my hubby and kids don't want me to lose more. And... After the last few months struggling to maintain where I am, I am pretty convinced I won't try. 😁

Some pages says you should weigh more when you are older. I am not sure what the logic may be about that
26 May 20 by member: liv001
I think that’s due to menopause. We naturally have to cut calories back then or gain weight. Trust me on that lol. I think they just assume older folks will lose muscle mass and gain more weight so the charts reflect that.

Do you have abs? My tummy is fairly flat at 123, but no abs lol. It’s awesome that you can eat 1700 and maintain 110!

Liv, just this morning I was taking with my husband about you and your size and intake. He said, "She must be very fit and active?" ☑️"And she eats lots of protein?"☑️ I think this whole CICO thing is real, but... You are a wonder. 😁

In my other life, my ideal weight was 145; I was 5" 5' and I'm big-boned. I've been as low as 128, but I really didn't like the way I looked, too boney. Now, at my age and even having shrunk to 5'3" ( disgusting), I don't think I want to go that low again. I'm probably going to aim for 175, then, if I ever get there, I'll decide.

I don't believe you should weigh more when you are older, I believe those are simply the statistics. When we get older, we tend to lose muscle and with that our metabolism slows down. My BMR at 18: 1571, my BMR at 58: 1371 (same weight, same length). To stay the same weight, we either have to eat less calories, and/or exercise more to burn the calories, and maintain/develop muscles to stabilize/increase the metabolism. Most adults, however, eat more, and have a less active life without strengthening training than they were younger hence the weight gain. Especially menopausal women should do a lot of strength training to keep their muscles and a higher metabolism. @Liv you must be quite muscular and/or active since you can eat a considerable amount of calories. I am still working on that!
