Good morning!

Wow. Talk about a black hole to fall in. :/

Yesterday went NOTHING like what I had expected.

I had it all planned out, a quiet day with Wife, a few treats, enjoying Indulgence Day. Shrimp Ettouffée for dinner. It's all good. Or so I thought.

Then the chaos begin.

Without going too much into detail, let's just say that it was one of those days.

Everything I touched seemed to fail, fall apart, stop working, or break. Everything. No exception.

Nothing - NOTHING - went as planned.

It was a HIGHLY stressful day, all food plans went out the window, and so did the calorie counting.

A rough estimate says 5000 calories, including a whole pizza (which is about 1600 alone), candies, sodas, etc.

Not good.

The punishment is already starting: First of all I am 7(!) lbs heavier this morning! LOL! I am not sure whether to laugh or to cry.

I will DEFNITELY choose to laugh.

First of all, to gain 7 lbs of FAT, I would have had to consume more than 20,000 calories. I didn't. It's obviously not all fat, but just food processing.

Looking at it conservatively, if I did consume 5000 calories, and (estimated) burned about 2500 from yesterday's activities, then I could have gained about 400 grams of fat. Sure, that's a lot. But nothing I can't knock down in a couple of days. The rest of the massive gain is simply food stuck in my system that needs to be worked.

Second of all, today is a new day. I am back to being positive, and today will be a great day.

It's wild though. There is no way I ate 7 lbs of food. LOL. I know I am retaining water too - this goes with the territory of not eating right, and just makes today's weigh'in that much more terrifying.
I'm gonna do my scheduled Low Cal Day, and it's much needed. I feel REALLY sluggish after yesterdays binges (yup, I figured I'd need to put that in plural!), and I have NO urge for food whatsoever. It'll be an easy day to do it.

...

Today, I have very different plans from yesterday:

1. Workout in a couple of hours.

Daughter is coming with me for the exercise, Wife is coming with me to hang, and to join me on a 5+ kilometer walk afterwards. Gotta burn some calories.

2. Walking.

A nice, long walk with Wife.

3. Rockin' Out with Burnin' Live!

I am hoping that Drummer Jack will want to start early, as I need to set up new bass sound. I reset my amp plugging in my new effects controller, and I want to see what it can do, with proper volume. It'll be fun. :)
I'm bringing my FULL gear today - it's gonna be LOUD! Loud is good. And fun. :)

4. Low Cal Day.

I need this and I want this. Low Cal Days makes me feel a LOT better, when I feel sluggish. Also, they push me on track on my calorie counting, when I feel that I am slacking.

5. Shrimp Ettouffée for dinner.

I'm still not sure I spell it right. LOL. Still, it's one of the best dishes that Wife makes. A favorite. Low Cal too, the way she does it. :)

...

So here's to days better than the one I had yesterday. It shouldn't be too hard to accomplish.

Today I am thankful for:
- Surviving yesterday! LOL!
- A new day. New start.
- The strength to work hard today to feel better. I know that once I am done at the gym it'll be a whole new world for me.
- Rock and roll today! Yeah, baby, yeah!

Happy Sunday! Life is good!

After so many low days in the last two weeks your metabolism probably needed a super indulgence day. Enjoy your Sunday!

My body will NEVER need the foods that I ate. LOL. But yeah, you are in a way right. It's no real damage, just a HORRIBLE thing to get on the scale and be 7 lbs heavier SINCE YESTERDAY!!! LOL. I'm okay with it. Moving on. :)

Do you know why you ate that much? I am not concerned one bit about the calories to pounds but more the why, and how did you feel when you were doing it, do you really know the why and what are the tricks it is playing on your brain and not the scale. Now that you have lost so much weight, is it different now eating that much emotionally vs when you were obese? Do the same things trigger the overeating? Wow, I just rattled off a lot of questions, more like thoughts...I am just curious since you have been so successfull, how have things changed to maintian:-) Since you are... Hope the Shrimp Étouffée was yummy, I should be in New Orleans some time next month, to try the real deal:-) OH, and how does your wife make it healthy? since it is base of butter/flour usually, yummmmm though.... ENJOY!

then i wont feel as bad. i have been pigging out with a lot of foods but in theory..i cant gain 6 pounds in 2 days either. i might have overeaten by a 1000 or 2 000 but that doesnt make ya gain all that much. good thing i choose to laugh about it like you, not feel all shitty and depressed, i guess its a choice :)

Im glad you survived to tell the tale! I cant trust myself just yet with some foods bc its too soon for me since im still losing. But you got all your gears together today after having a bad day yesterday and that's awesome and inspirational! :D

Lizzy, to answer your questions: Yes, I know why I ate like that. I was stressed out and bothered. It was just a bad "off"-day, as they come now and then. I was annoyed and irritated, and just didn't care. Emotional eating can easily come into play still, however it doesn't happen as often as I am a MUCH more positive guy than I used to be, so in a way it DOES get easier. I'm still working on maintaining, and still haven't perfected this. I am still losing weight (well, except today...), so I'm not truly maintaining weight. At least I'm not gaining this time. Give it a few days, and I'll be below 80 again, also below 78. Maybe for Saturday's weigh-in? :) And yes - a daily weigh-in keeps me in a short leash. One thing I like about the Danish calorie counting system - I'm not sure if FatSecret does the same - but once I reach my goal weight I simply shift the setting in there to maintenance, my activity level and my weight. Every day when I weigh in, it'll tell me my RDI for the day, whether I need to lose a tiny bit, gain a tiny bit or just stay where I am. Considering that every day will vary a little, I think this is simply brilliant. Every Day I will know what I have available and can simply go with that. In theory, at least. :)

That is a brilliant feature.
