Too much temptation yesterday. Mom and I took Aunt M and Sister out to Brio restaurant for their birthdays. I had a steak salad that was really divine (really tender beef with gorgonzola cheese, candied pecans, and a sweet balsamic dressing). Sister has lost about 90 pounds over the last 10 months, and she wanted to eat well at lunch for a change. So we splurged on 2 luscious desserts that we shared: a caramel cheesecake with raspberry sauce and a chocolate torte. I had 3 bites of dessert and only a small piece of bread with my salad, so it wasn't too bad.

I've just been insanely busy with work, staying up way too late. I'm so tired it hurts. Gotta try to go on a walk and record my food today if I can. Mr Coco is back in town and I had to get him to take my dog-walking duties yesterday. Just couldn't get work done and be with family too. The house is a wreck. It's bumming me out.

OK... I'm not getting this... People celebrate losing weight by eating a bunch of stuff? It's nice to see you were able to restrain yourself. Next time tell your sister to celebrate with a shopping spree to buy a really nice dress or go get mannies and peddies

Ok I dont agree with Runesinger on this one.. I think a calculated splurge on some fine dining every now and then is perfectly acceptable. That is what life is about.. saving up for your special treats. And not over indulging is what keeps them special and your weight loss efforts on track and keeps you from feeling like you are being deprived for the rest of your life.. I dont think as many people could find life long success with total deprivation. And I also read somewhere that you just recently celebrated your 30 year anniversary.. Congrats to you and MR. Cocobutt!

Rune, it is a good point. It's sorta like giving a junkie some heroin for having kicked the habit. Ceebee, I think some people can handle a splurge well. I'm not sure if I'm psychologically ready for it because I still think of food as the supreme reward. I'm at high risk for being one of those overindulgers. I have to tell myself, only a bite or two. Then it turns out to be three. lol
