Met calorie goal.
Bike 60 minutes.
Walking Binky-pup 10, 45, and 20 minutes.

Have started making strawberry/berry protein shakes this week and have really noticed a difference. I just feel GREAT. They are high calorie, so I'm kind of replacing a meal with it. I feel like it really makes every calorie count more. I'm not a sweets person...and it IS sweet...but very refreshing.
Frozen strawberries or mixed berries
Skim milk or skim milk and yogurt
Scoop of high protein performance whey powder
Flaxseed meal
Chia seeds

Hip is still sore, but about 25% better. It is 10:30 and I haven't stretched today. Will try to hit it earlier tomorrow.

This is Binky-puppy's first winter and boy am I noticing some things. I live south of Houston on the way to Galveston (NASA area), and we have VERY mild winters compared to a lot of y'all. However, the temps have dropped lately. She still wee-wees outside, but doesn't want to poo. She just cries sometimes. We have the training pads out. I've also seen her get stubborn for the first time ever (she truly hasn't shown "attitude" before this). She wants to stand on the sidewalk and watch the cars go in and out of the gate. She plants her little legs and won't budge. Hey, we have other dogs, squirrels, and people walking by all of the time. This is the first time my little honey has shown a stubborn streak. Go figure!

What a great day! Hope yours was too.
Onward, friends.

I've always had mini-doxies and Binky-puppy is my first rescue from a dachshund rescue organization. We know her mother was a mini-doxie as she was pregnant when she was rescued. We are guessing that the papa was a mini-doxie with some chihuahua (her face, legs, and tail), but most of her features are doxie. Doxies are NOTORIOUS for being stubborn and this is the first time she has shown that! They can also be difficult to potty-train, although they are intelligent. I'm even teaching her to "drop" no-no items and she is pretty good about it (unlike stubborn doxies I've had in the past). Chestnut63, she is 10 1/2 months. I am so boring about my pup! :0)

Yum your protein shake sounds awesome!! I usually do a protein shake about twice a week . sometimes I just do the banana blueberry , sometimes I do kale spinach banana pineapple depends on my mood. Very cute that Binky is experiencing her first Christmas that’s exciting. Our little bear is 2 yrs old. This was his first big boy Christmas. What I mean by that is this is the first Christmas that we had a Christmas tree up and it was gated. This was the first Christmas that he unwrapped his toys by himself. It was really pretty cute. Fur babies are just amazing. Little Bear hasnt experienced anything too cold weather wise since were in Florida . But hopefully in the future we can move someplace where we can have seasons again and then he’s going to learn to deal with some snow eventually. 😃 for your hip pain have you tried getting one of those small electronica tens units? I have Sciatica , Hip pain and I have a tens unit that I use at home. Some days I have to wear it for like five hours but it helps. Sometimes I have to use those heat patches tiger balm or sleep with a heating pad all night. Well have a great rest your weekend keep on moving forward you’re doing awesome!! 😊

damablack13, Little Bear sounds cute! Unwrapping his own presents like a big pup! Good parenting. I used to use a tens unit like thingy for my spinal cord injury (healed!) several years ago. Although muscle problems are a big part of my hip struggle, the stretches I do from PT have helped. The biggest problem is avascular necrosis (dead bone) in my hip, which tens wouldn't help. However, the heating pad idea is great! :0)
