(Warning: Opening lines are pretty upset. Don't worry though. Things get better. As always, writing usually makes me feel better about things...)

Seriously? You're kidding, right?

So, Wednesday last week I was at 87.7 kilos The lowest in MONTHS. Today, I am at 92.7 kilos. I'm up 5 frickin' kilos.

I'm not sure how that's even possible.

To put my own logic:

One kilo is 7000 calories. To gain one kilo worth of fat, I'd have to consume 7000 calories MORE THAN I BURN. I burn around 3000 calories on an easy day. So I'd have to consume about 70,000 calories over the course of a week for this to be a 100% fat gain.

Obviously, this didn't happen. I swear, I did NOT eat 50 pizza and forgot about it. :)

Today is the day where I wish I had tracked my fat percentage, my water, my muscle.

Today I registered those numbers, and I'm gonna follow them closely, daily.

There is no way I gained 11 lbs in a week.

So, where is it that things are off? Is this STILL from the Birthday weekend? Can it really settle that hard? I know I have felt constipated. I know that the pizza I had (a full one, 1500 calories give or take) will mess with me for DAYS. I think I have had one bother me for a full week at some point.

I know I didn't just magically gain 11 lbs of muscle. I do work out kinda hard, but not THAT hard. :)

On www.madlog.dk - the new place I use to register my foods - there are options to register these other stats, and I'll start punching in those numbers on a regular basis. Just make that a habit too. That way I can track what is going on.

For the record, these are the stats that I am entering:

Date: March 6th, 2013
Weight: 92.7 kgs
"To lose": 12.7 kgs
Fat%: 23.3 %
TBW% (water) 55.9 %
MUS% (muscle) 38.7 %
Bone: 3.2 kgs

(So, it turned out that I can actually only enter weight and fat% at madlog.dk - but something interesting DID happen. I am so high up in weight today that I essentially haven't lost ANYTHING since I joined around new year. However, my fat percentage is down 3.3%! That's gotta count for SOMETHING, right?)

I find it comforting that I have not lost or gained any bone over the time I have had this scale. lol.

Now, I need to look in the manual to be sure of all the numbers, what they actually are representing, and if the are kilos or percentages.

Allright, so I did that. The fat, the water, the muscle - they're all percentages. Weight, The "Until you reach goal weight", and the bone is all kilos.

Which is interesting, because if I do NOT count the 3.2 kilos of bone, then the rest of me is 117%! LOL. Does that mean I'm fat? Hahahaha....

Anyways, as always I find these numbers to just be a guide line. I can't really use them for anything more specific.

I am actually paying for a "body check" at the gym. Since I'm big and heavy today, maybe I should ask to get it done? I'm thinking today would be a great day for it, to track progress. I get one of these per month in my subscribtion.

...

So what's in store for today, you ask?

Well, I'm heading to the gym in one hour, to be there when they open. I really wish they'd open an hour earlier, but what can I do?

After gym, I'm going to work. I think it's a reasonably simple day, so I have a chance to finally catch up on a few things that needs to be done. I'll be pretty busy with that, I think. This is a good thing, as I really don't want to have time to think about foods.

I'm hoping to skip lunch, if I'm not too hungry. I want to knock some of this weight off, but not at the cost of hunger. Hunger makes me want to eat more at dinner, and that ain't happening.

Dinner will probably be a pita on the way out, because of my evening plans.

My drummer and I will be travelling a few towns over to check out a monthly jam session thing. We haven't gone before, so we don't really know what to expect, but I'm bringing my awesome bass guitar, and we'll see what happens. Maybe it's super fun and we'll be back month after month, maybe it's just meh.

Regardless, I'll make sure to have fun. That's what it's all about.

So, today I'm thankful for:
- Still feeling that I have focus on my weight loss journey even after the most disheartening weigh-in ever. EVER. I do feel that I am doing good.
- A great night's sleep again. I need this. It's been some long days this week.
- Focus focus focus.

Life is good!

Focus is key, especially when the numbers are so disheartening. I've said before that I think a tape measure could be a good friend to you since you started going to the gym. Hang in there, make good choices, keep your focus, be mindful and stay calm. Have a great day :)

Hey Keld, drink plenty of water, even more than 2 liters and try to eat food full of fiber, like fruit or whole rye bread, in order to get rid of pizza effect. And don't worry, you cannot gain 11lbs in one week! Have a nice day!

?!?!?! Weird.... That's all I can say. As you said, it can't be 11 pounds of fat...

only 3.2kg of bones? Can that number be real? My logic says no, But I have never had a set of 'gucci' scales! I think we all got a lot more bone! Especially back bone LOL. Hang in there Keld. Take some of your frustration out on the gym equipment, they won't mind :)

LOL... maybe it's because I'm lacking the backbone that it only is 3.2 kilos. I still find it hilarious that I am 117% muscle/fat/water. I'm really okay with the weigh-in now. I was NOT okay with it this morning. I'll keep going, and keep losing fat. No matter what I weigh. :)

Yep.. you know it's not fat gain. Still, I understand how upsetting those things are even when we know better. Hope you keep feeling better as the day goes on!

Keep the faith buddy! I know you will. Focus on your work and what sounds like it'll be a fun jam session, and all will be well. I think the 'body check' is a good idea, especially if it's already in your paid membership! We can't always rely on our home machines to be 100% accurate. Glad you're getting better sleep!

Oh boy, I would go batty if that happened to me (and I am sure it will one of these days!). You are doing everything right and you know it! I bet those kilos come of just as quickly as the went on. Maybe it is time to start measuring once a month? I was thinking of doing that as well. I hope the jam is awesome!
