Day 1 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

This weekend, I was so busy I did not go to the gym or run at all ☹

But, I did have a chance to make this chart using all the data I have gathered on Fat Secret over the past 6 years.

When calories were low I was losing weight. However, because I do the ‘no solid food’ fasting during the week my calories most days during the week are clearly lower than I am expending simply by being alive, so there is a 'deficit'.

Not a week goes by where there is not a deficit.

This is what leads me to belive that sustained periods of low carbs and protein, that show up as 'lower' calories, is where I lose weight.

If it were *only* about the calories, the calories would have a direct proportion to my weight. Meaning, when the calories are cut 50% the weight gain or loss should be be the same.

I have been staring at this chart for hours and there is no direct relationship. Calories are all over the place.

Still waiting for my exercise data that I hope to be able to pull out of the Fat Secret API by this weekend. However, this weekend, where I only missed out on 1500 calories of exercise, yet gained 7 pounds, doesn't make me feel that will hold all the answers either.

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

-- where I only missed out on 1500 calories of exercise, yet gained 7 pounds -- That does seem strange, I don't know what to make of it.

@rgaDawg - Its the water, related to glycogen storage because of the carbs :) For me, a 8-10 pound swing in either direction is just 'water'. However, I do have periods where I get down to 163 pounds (14 pounds from now). To hit that level I must burn actual fat. It is that combination that I am looking for. The last 2 times I did that, you can see on the chart that my 'calories' were at their usual levels. I believe the answer is in the macros and the exercise. This is why I need to get the exercise data in there...

-- Its the water, related to glycogen storage because of the carbs :) -- Got it. I just posted to other entry bunch of stuff about carb burns, which you may just disregard. I see you have a much better understanding of your body and what it does than those suggestions. Carry on :)

Yes, I see that now, looking at your March 2019 (166 lb) calendar, fats @ 62%, proteins, carbs way low, deficits high.

@rgaDawg - I just read what you wrote on yesterdays post. Yeah, I am not sure how the fat is processed during the week when I do low carb, high fat, and run. Your theory may be correct, but I want to analyze the data to see :)

@rgaDawg - I appreciate the critical look at the data and the honest opinions. It is only the bully's that attack any opinion that they disagree with that I just delete and report as the abusive behavior that it is. These people think that "I didn't mean it" is a defense. Well ask a woman who is repeatedly asked to go on a date and refuses if she is not being bullied. - - anyway, sorry to go on a tangent, but, **I-am-not-the-one when dealing with bully's**, and I wanted you to know that I do not consider your discourse to fall into that category. Thanks!

Thanks. Very curious to see how things go for you, following with great interest. You put a lot of thought and detail in your path & direction. One of the first people I started following, for that reason.

Can you make a graph with time averaged weight vs. calorie average? The both seem to be pretty steady on average and would show your true rdi.

@love2educate - With PowerBI yes this is totally possible. However, I am refusing to do any more analysis until I get the exercise data in there. Right now we are only looking at 'calories consumed'. I feel that is *way too big of a puzzle piece* to --not have-- when 'analyzing' :) I have some weeks where I do several 7-11 mile runs that can hit 1k in burn.
