Happy Monday, everyone. I survived going to the movies with NO popcorn yesterday. Believe me, it was tough. I felt the urge to run to the concession stand for at least the first hour of Ad Astra. Of course, the movie wasn't very interesting so there's that excuse. I made it through 4 days of Mary's mini-diet and I'm learning a lot about hunger; what it is, how it feels. I keep thinking of that old Weight Watchers adage, "If you aren't hungry enough to eat an apple, you aren't hungry." For me, I WAS really hungry yesterday at various times but really, really, didn't want to eat potatoes and veggies. I ate them anyway because I had to have food and I felt satisfied afterwards. It takes a long time to undo a lifetime of conditioning and food addiction. On a bright note, I have reached my first goal of getting back below 210 by October 1st.
207.8 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Ha! I saw that same movie yesterday too! Did end up ordering the popcorn though and the personal pizza... (oops) Still managed to get my 2 lbs for the week. Great job!

Way to go with the NO popcorn. As a former popcorn addict I understand how hard that was and congratulate you no this success! Great job reaching your first weight goal as well.

Popcorn is my go to snack.....especially if it's the only carb I have for the day....remember to subtract the fiber to get NET carbs....not too bad then.

The hunger is a funny thing. Sometimes I feel like when I was a kid and there was something on my plate that I did NOT want to eat (vegetables, mostly) and my parents would tell me that I couldn't leave the table until I ate it. Usually I just wouldn't eat it, though I still felt hungry and after a time my parents conceded and let me leave the table. Now, I feel hunger and my stomach will even growl but when I think about potatoes and veggies? No interest. I'd prefer to not eat. I think this is part of the breakthrough towards real hunger vs conditioned eating. I'm still learning as I go.
