A real red arrow today. What happened? I have too little statistic to know for sure. The small apple combined with other carbs may have taken me out of ketosis. I thought so when I had it. But it is OK. I do not have to be in ketosis constantly at this point. I did not exercise hard yesterday. It was a day of mostly light walking. I pushed the amounts of food up as I have lately. Am I hitting a ceiling?. Will just wait to see with more data. Part of my premaintenance project and learning.

Aren't you on maintenance? Looks like you reached your goal. I remember when I had reached my goal (once, years ago!) I stayed within a 4 pound range. My weight always swings up to 4 pounds for no apparent reason then down again. I know a couple people who tell me their weight is always the same. Always, for years. That's never been the case with me. As long as I didn't let the range extend past those 4 pounds I was okay.

The thing that messes me up is that I know I can move 8+ pounds of just water up and down. This makes figuring out fat gain and loss really hard...

You've got the "long blue line" working for you, liv007! A little variation is okay.

Looking at your work you've done you shouldn't be down on yourself if you are. You've done great. 120 lbs is a great weight. Idk your height / age, but you should make sure you look into averages before you beat yourself up, or feel depressed. And remember, when measuring daily, you can easily fall into a feeling of inadequacy due to all the fluctuations. As to the ketosis state, if you're testing via urine strips, they can fail you the further in you get with your ketosis state. Though in general most fruit will flat out knock you out of it, depending on what else you eat in that day. I've heard / read that it's okay to have a carb day every once and awhile too, times depended on where you're at in the process. What kind of scale are you using? You might if you haven't already, look at getting a scale that will measure your fat %, water % and BMI, they're more indicative of your overall health and well being, though these values too, should not be too deeply read into. All that being said, the bigger signs you should pay attention to are: How do you feel about what you've accomplished? How do you feel in your daily life? Do you like your results when you see yourself? If you feel good about yourself, and you should, you're doing more then great.

No worries. Fiber and various forms of indigestible sugars can bring on a five pound water weight factor in the colon alone. In and out of ketosis will probably not be much problem either. Life.

I am not beating myself up or anything. It is all good and it is all to be expected. My plan for maintenance is not about counting calories. Where I am coming from the amounts of food itself is not as important as the kind of food I am eating and how often I eat them. So I am experimenting as to where I am with how many carbs especially. I am planning to do this for quite awhile. My maintenance will be founded on knowing what works for me and what does not work for me. (stuff I learned from Dr.Atkins)
