Day 2 of a planned 3 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

My Omron body fat monitor still has me at 20% body fat. This is good news that I apparently am not getting that much fatter, but, I was trying to get it to go *down* 😜 Can a ‘brotha’ get a 29.9% body fat reading after all this fasting and running?? haha!

I’m really not complaining. Yes I set some goals (I wanted to be 160lbs when I go on vacation, so I have ‘room’ to gain weight), and it looks like I won't make them (instead of losing 5 pounds to hit that goal I gained 7!). However, apparently I am still so thin that 3 people at work, who see me all the time, commented that I have really lost a lot of weight.

The ‘strategy’ before I go on vacation next week will be to *not gain weight*. Yeah I know that seems obvious, but, I *eat* ‘solid food’ on the weekends and I usually *gain weight* when I do.

This weekend, I need to eat ultra-low carb (<20carbs) and continue to run hard. I have never gained weight when doing that. I plan to then go back to my normal ‘no solid food fast’ during the following week and I should end up around 165lbs.

Well, that is that plan... and we know how those go...

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

Adef hun, you gain weight after eating solid foods because it fills your intestines back up. Plus it adds some normal water weight. If you go into maintenance calories or a sight 10% increase you could gain some muscle faster. It would mean the same amount of fat (some people do lose fat as they gain muscle too), but a higher muscle mass which means a lower body fat percentage over all. My hubby has the same amount of fat he had a few months ago but he has added muscle and he *looks* like he has lost fat. I’m the arms legs and glutes anyway. Still working on his belly but it seems to stay no matter what he wants or how much. All the men in his family are that way so I think it’s genetic and will be really hard for him to get the last of it off. Anyway those above are my suggestions if you’d like to make a change and see that BF% go down and the SMM go up.

You still have some more time before your vacay. Do you and you’ll get to 165 at least.

@CrashtestDawnie - Problem is my 'motivation' just 'isn't there' right now :( ... I want to eat a hamburger... and fries :) My head is in 'vacation mode' already. I may have to just 'repair' things when I eventually get back Haha!

I don’t know why but just knowing I’m going to go off keto sends me mentally into a carb binge fantasy that last until I break my diet 😒
