I do not know where this journal entry goes! I haven’t been on the site much but I want to start using it. I’m mainly writing this to myself to try to figure out what I am doing wrong and what I need to do next. I realize this would be very boring for anyone else so if it appears somewhere, please don’t wonder why I’m going into so much detail.

I had lost a little over 25 pounds by October of 2018. THEN, the holidays came and all the Jan and Feb family birthdays. By the end of February, I had put on 8 pounds. I have been trying to get back to losing but I think I have fallen into my old trap which is bouncing back and forth between low-carb and a Weight Watchers type diet. Even now, I want to try the Target diet challenge which starts here shortly but I KNOW I will have to also watch calories. Something in my head switches when I go on low-carb and I eat too much cheese and heavy calorie foods. From what I have been reading lately, low carb I supposed to dull you appetite so that you eat less but it really isn’t ‘all you want to eat’.
Anyway, I’m going to try to get back to what was working for me before. I’m pretty mad for allowing myself to gain some weight back. All I know is that I have to catch it NOW before it gets out of hand. I’m still at a 20 pound loss and I want to build on that.

I was looking at other support apps and some cost quite a bit of money but this Fat Secret site looks just as good so I want to become more involved here.

Gaining 8 lbs over the holidays and through the birthday months isn't that bad. Don't beat yourself up over it. Your getting back on track and moving in the right direction. I have been using FS for 2 weeks now and love it. Keeping track of my food and journaling has helped me tremendously. Plus the FS community is very supportive and encouraging. I keep learning new things every day from them. I think you will find out that you choose a fantastic program.

This is not my first time here. I should call myself yo-yo lol! This is a great site with a lot of super people that are very supportive. The food diary is very helpful to me. You will get rid of the 8 !

It took me a while to find out why my journal entries go out into space so that I can't find them, so you ain't alone :) Click on Home from the bottom toolbar, then find the icons at the top. The heart and message bubble icons are where you'll find out if others have liked your post, or any comments made.

Welcome—glad you’re here! I did the same thing as far as checking out programs. And with this being free—and available at all hours of the day—I decided to try it out. And I’m glad I did! I’ve lost 22 pounds since January 4th! The support and positivity has given me hope, and I’m taking better care of myself as well. I’m sure you’ll find success here, too!😊🎈

Life is a journey - remember to celebrate your successes. I made a plan for where I want to be with short and long term goals. I also don't view this as a diet...it is just my way of eating that works for me to achieve the goals. Today it isn't work or a struggle...I eat mostly what I like - portion size and make sure I am fueled appropriately for my level of activity. there are a lot of members here that can guide you on a plan that might be appealing to you. I wish you all the best on your adventure.

Wow! Thank you all for the support, advice, and encouragement! I didn’t even know if anyone would see what I wrote or not. As I read your comments, I found that I identified with each one of you. I know I made the right decision picking Fat Secret. I am going to do the food diary and smaller portion sizes which is how I lost the weight in 2018. Now I just need to get the rest off! Thank you. I’m motivated and excited now.
