It’s funny how some numbers on a scale can be the source of such joy. It was a good weigh in today. I am on day 12 of No Sugar, No Alcohol, No Chocolate. This is not a record stretch by any means; in the past year I have had stretches of up to 61 days without alcohol, 49 days w/o chocolate and 31 days w/o sugar. However, my attempts in the past usually involved giving up alcohol first, waiting for the sugar and chocolate cravings to subside, which took from 3 to 10 days and then ditching the chocolate, waiting another week or more to give up the sugar which I was consuming mostly in the form of baked goods. This time around when I slipped up I ended up consuming all 3 items at a birthday dinner, but the next morning I was just “over it” so to speak. I have had no interest or desire in having any of the 3 things. Last weekend we did a 2 day music festival and I never once entertained the idea of drinking or eating sugar. I just had no desire. That is a good sign. Onward into the weekend - Hoorah!
