Alnona's Journal, 01 March 2019

2 hours straight on the treadmill last night. I burned over 600 calories and only consumed approx 900 and yet the scale only nudged. I did what Rosio19 suggested and I went by how my clothes fit instead(muscle mass issue, I can kickstart a Harley with these legs😂). I also laid flat after my ,30 min stepper routine and I saw a concave where my big round belly used to be. I was jumping around like a school girl. Have a healthy day 🙋

Hi alnona! I'd LOVE to have you in the Swimsuit Slimdown challenge with us! I believe you can still sign up today until midnight Eastern USA time. At least, I HOPE so -- it won't be as much fun if you're not in it with us!

@Rosio19 needs to be said again: "you don't carry a scale number around, you carry your body around"! So true...scale is just a piece of the whole picture! Yay NSV's!

@Rosio, unless you're moving the scale to another room or throwing it. 😂

That's how I feel about the scale. I know that I have a lot of muscle weight, so I haven't been getting to upset about the scale not budging fast.

Make sure you eat enough! Don't starve you'd be surprised at how much you can eat and still lose weight 😉

Hello Alnona, Make sure to incorporate some weight lifting- maybe twice a week to start. Cardio burns calories only while you’re performing it, weight training burns calories even a day after you’ve trained. Do some of both- they are both very important. And remember- changing your body is not a sprint- it is a longing term goal. Your health is most important. If you do this right it will take a while and will turn into a healthy, maintainable lifestyle, not a draining DIEt. Do not starve yourself! Calculate your maintenance calories intake ( so many calculators available online) and then roughly cut 500calories from that. That number is the number of calories your should be eating for weight loss. Keep going!!

Hello! make sure you eat enough food or your body will hang on to your fat with all it's might!!! It thinks it won't get any more food and is hoarding the fat!🤗

Hi @crazycatchick. I was going to respond to your question in a Private Message, but since your Profile is "Private," I cannot send you messages. I hope you will see this here. Challenges are little "contests," so to speak - but where everyone is a winner! They can go for just one week, as do all my Daily Accountability 2019 challenges. (DA2019-#9 starts this Monday). In those challenges, you report in every day, and the primary focus is to log everything you eat or drink into your Food Diary. There are also several mini-challenges, including getting in more Fiber, fewer Net Carbs, Exercising “more” than you normally do. Other challenges can go for a maximum of 12 weeks. For those, you usually report in just weekly. I just started a Swimsuit Slimdown which began yesterday. To FIND Challenge, and check out what you might be interested in, just go to the FatSecret Home page, and click on the tab toward the top that says “Challenges.” You can put in key words to try to find ones that pertain to you; for instance, if you are doing Keto, you could search for that. Challenges are GREAT for getting you on the right track, and for keeping you encouraged along the way. The Daily Accountability challenges are especially good for people who are just starting out, because they help you to develop the disciplines that will help you succeed on any W.O.E. (way of eating). Hope that helps!
