Day 3 of a planned 3 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting
Blood sugar 98 mg/dL

People can make 'choices', but, my weight loss is only a 'gift', a 'blessing'. I do not feel I 'made it happen' because 'I finally got smart'. A cancer diagnosis or an injury would remind me real quick that 'I am not God'. So, for me, my choices allowed me to not 'waste' the 'gift' that the 'opportunity' of 'fasting for weight loss' has provided.

I was still unsure what my “strategy” would be for this three day weekend. Every other three day weekend, including last week, had me gaining 8-10 pounds. Last week my “strategy” was to 🏃🏾 run 7 miles a day and 🏋🏾 “lift heavy” at the gym each day. While this did nothing for my weight loss, this morning I see that my muscles look visibly bigger and my body looks visibly toned.

So, I decided to do the same this weekend as last weekend. Yes, I will have weight gain, and I REALLY do not want to hit 180 pounds (because this is the weight that I have never gone past after losing nearly 40 pounds), but, other than fasting all weekend, I have no other plan to not gain weight when I have three ‘eating days’ in a row.

… and I’m not going to fast on my three day weekend! Yes, I *could* do it, but there is a “quality of life” aspect that I am always aware of. I need to have days where I “relax” and “give myself a treat”. Thinking I can “act right for the rest of my life” is the definition of ‘hubris’. “Humility” requires me to recognize, and accept, that I am only human. So, I will take the weight gain, and then get back on my usual program when the weekend is over.

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

I like the post adef...what is sustainable for you might be impossible for another, while what they do is a recipe for disaster for you. I'm with Jim too...each day we have is not a given but a gift, what we do with them are important for our future selves and for the ones that surround us. Take care, hope your weekend is awesome!!
