Day 2 of a planned 2 days of eating
Blood sugar 90 mg/dL

I blame 🏛 Congress for my weight gain!

Basically, they took too long to pass the United States tax legislation, so the withholding tables were ‘out of whack’ and not enough taxes were taken out of one of our paychecks, so when I sat down to do the taxes, the expected refund was not there and we owed money (sigh).

So, yesterday became an eating day ☹

I was able to do a 🏃🏾 run yesterday because we had a small break in the 🌧 rain in Los Angeles (it actually started raining again on the far turn on my 5 mile run, but, I had no choice but to complete the run).

I did 200 carbs and 2400 calories, I-will-gain-weight at those levels. Many on this site would not. This is why I track my *own* numbers.

With all those carbs I took in yesterday, I need to hit the WEIGHTS this morning and 🏋🏾 lift heavy...

My goal was to be 168 pounds this morning then eat like it is the end of the world and let go at the Super Bowl party… That plan-did-not-work… but, I am STILL going to do the eat like it is the end of the world! part 😊

As long as I continue to log all my food (today will be a challenge because it is a massive potluck, but, I WILL do it), and weigh and journal every day, I will be ok.

But, *controlling my eating* for my entire life will never happen.

So, if I only gain 3 pounds today, it would put me even with my Monday weight from last week.

Good thing taxes come only once a year…

Hopefully your taxes are all done - sorry about the owing part of the whole thing :( Glad you got to run at least! ENJOY THE GAME!!!! I just LOVE watching Gurley and Woods!! Gurley is like a one-man offense :)

Love this post! 😁 Have a good time eating " like it's the end of the world ". 😃 I might be doing something similar, but on a smaller scale, like it's the end of my village. 😉

@nikeit - Thank you! Yes, we will both be cheering on Gurley :) - - I have so much to be thankful for, like the fact that I will probably still be under 175 pounds on Monday morning when I start my usual fast (and I will be 'water fasting' for the first two days). I will try not to 'screw up' next weekend, BUT, it is one of those 3-day weekends! 😫 Arggg! my past data shows that I ALWAYS gain on a 3-day weekend! Anyway, gotta make a new plan.... :)

Adef, the posted change was printed right after the law was passed. Did you change your deduction then? plus, you have had your own money working for you rather than the Feds holding on to it. Yeah, had to pay too, but liked not giving them as much of my money on the front end. Enjoy the game! 🏈

Maybe you need a second job - like in retail - it will assure that you will not have ANY 3 day weekends :) Are you going to be water fasting for the first 2 days of all your fasts now?

@Erquiaga - I TOTALLY agree that the **smart thing** to do is to take the withholdings, invest the money, make any *profit* on the investments, then pay the taxes at the end of the year. This way, I come out ahead!. However, you know me, I'm the guy that 'no solid food fasts' only because it allows me to 'turn off my brain' and still lose weight Haha So, I like to tell the government to 'take too much money' then give me my refund every year. This way, I can 'turn off my brain'. However, as with all things in life, things don't work out the way we want them to... (sigh)

@nikeit - No! No! No! I will NOT be 'Water Fasting' every week! Haha! It takes WAY too much 'mental effort'. But, I will probably have to do it every week this month to -balance out- the multiple three day weekends... However, once I can get back to 'staying even' on the weekends, I will just 'no solid food' fast during the week (because I can usually get a 4-5 pound loss).

uhh, just the thought of doing my taxes stresses me out to the point where I will gain weight just from cortisol. Enjoy your feast for me! Sorry you owe but at least you owe less with the tax cuts. weeeee.
