jaime30024's Journal, 24 January 2019

Whoosh!!! I stepped on the scale four times. The first time because it read 218.8#. Three times afterward it read 217.8#. So I’m going to own the 217.8# with the knowledge there will be fluctuations.

Even with the swelly belly I tried on a pair of skinny jeans (that were too uncomfortable to wear last year) and they pulled on and buttoned comfortably!!! I tried on some "skinny slacks" (referring to them that way because I used to wear them at a lighter weight) and I could get them on! I could button them but the belly....yeah no. I have a favorite pair of spring/summer pants that I am looking to get back into. I also put on a pair of jean capris (that I could not wear last year) and YES could get them on.

So the menopause and the surgery. I am learning that too much right means...too much standing and too much walking. I have to listen to the little twinge and ache and heaviness and be done when it logs its complaint. If I don't I get mucho swelling!!

22 days of Whole 30 Keto Style and I am looking forward to a low carb pizza casserole in February. However, I will add cheese in sparingly and not daily and monitor to see how it effects me.

I have NREMT test today for my EMT certification...so prayers and good vibes are much appreciated!!!

I love reading journals because they remind me of things I've forgotten over the years. The swelling for overexertion - could really leave someone disappointed if they'd worked really hard exercising. Our bodies - such mysteries. You in your skinny jeans - well done!

Thanks, FullaBella! I refer to my body as my own person Science Project! It really is a mystery and since we are always changing the project is always changing. I'm just trying to find ways to care for it instead of fight it. Not always easy, though.

Woohoo to the whoosh! Consistency pays off. And yes, please take care of yourself as well as you would take care of someone else!

Thanks, Tesseeb! Well, I passed it. These tests they do not give you a score, do not let you know where your stronger or weaker point was. Just cuts you off at a certain point and decides if you know enough or not. Thankful to everyone for the positive vibes!!! Saturday was a realization to me at how much stress can factor in to the menopause brain fog. Unreal!!!!!
