Boo for me. I'm not paying attention to food and have included alcohol in my diet lately. I know it makes the scale go up and yet... Must. Get. Willpower. I need to move more, too. It's been cold and I'm feeling it in my joints. It makes me want to sit on the couch wrapped up in a blanket and not move at all. I need to get over myself and just do it.

hey we all take a break once in a while. I have taken some time off the exercise too. I got to get back to it myself.

Yes! Me too. Everything you said, except swap in muscle soreness for achy joints.

Hang in there, you will get back to it. Alcohol is my enemy, every time I drink I gain.

I limit myself to 5 ounces of merlot 3 times a week within a 1200 calorie diet and still lose.

Pam, had my first glass of wine since May last night. After so long without alcohol, I thought it would be a treat. Guess what, I didn't even enjoy it. Back to water for me. 🇺🇸

I have alcohol a couple times a week. Just log it, stay within your calorie budget, shouldn't be a problem. Not paying attention to intake is probably the problem, not the alcohol so much.

SoCalPam, you might want to check out an excellent book, "The Pleasure Trap: Mastering the Hidden Force that Undermines Health and Happiness. by Douglas J. Lisle, Ph.D., and Alan Goldhamer, D.C. They have some interesting things to say about willpower. The Amazon blurb starts this way: "The authors offer unique insights into the factors that make us susceptible to dietary and lifestyle excesses, and present ways to restore the biological processes designed by nature to keep us running at maximum efficiency and vitality."

That's the way I feel. It's hard to move when it's cold but we can do it. I ryan'm going to do 21 min. a day divided into 7 min. I need to set timer so to well be aware of what I do. join me.

The book sounds interesting, Miraculum; I'll have to check it out. Florannebg, your plan sounds really good. I'm going to start tracking better -- I have a spreadsheet with everything I need set out, but I've lost my way this past month. As for alcohol in the diet... I can afford the calories, but it weakens my willpower. Pate'? Why, yes! My cousin and I are noticing something interesting: she drinks much more than I do, but eats less. She is much heavier. Granted, I do move more than she does (as limited as my movement is), but I do think calorie-for-calorie that a burger "weighs" less than alcohol. Just my opinion.
