Day 1 of a planned 5 day 'no solid food fast'

Blood sugar 92 mg/dL

🌟 I see FAT everywhere 🌟

There was a discussion yesterday as to if I gained fat or just water weight when I put on 10lbs over a 4 day period last weekend. If you compare my profile picture at 163lbs to this picture from yesterday at 170lbs you can see that I have actual FAT gained. Now, most of it was intentional as I ‘bulked’ for my weightlifting, but I still have a significant amount of fat to lose to get back to where I was.

I now see that I need to re-set my goal weight back to 163lbs (my BMI weight). This means that rather than finishing this cut at the end of the week as I hoped, it could now take another 3-4 weeks. Oh well...

I believe that when I drive my blood sugar down I drive my insulin production down, and it is my insulin levels that cause me to get fat. (See: "The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss" - https://amzn.to/2sAbluO)

Even though I took in 100+ carbs yesterday, I believe I only gained one pound because...

🌟 Before run 97 mg/dL
🌟 After run 75 mg/dL
I then ate dinner.
🌟 This morning 92 mg/dL

I plan to run this morning, 'water fast' (drinking only Green Tea during the day), and a protein shake in heavy cream tonight. Hopefully this will get me back on track.

Have a great day everyone!

I don't know what you are pointing at, but when I have water weight my belly is bloated out more. fat cells absorb water I think just like muscles do. but what do I know. enjoy your fast, a no calorie all day should get rid of any extra carbs you had. yes insulin does load up the fat cells. but it can only load up the excess calories you give it. it is always this struggle when someone that has an insulin issue eats carbs. the problem goes away when insulin never has any carbs to wake it up. Whether I love my carbs or not, I had to eventually accept that my body does not do well with them. second thing I learned is veggies cause me to have horrible side effects. I have to accept that too. acknowledgment is the first step, second step is acceptance of the facts of life. third step is deciding how we plan to deal with it. Really it is that simple. finding the correct way for you to deal with it will be customized to you!

@baskington - I will get down to 163lbs and see how things look :) I hear what you are saying about water in fat cells, but I can't help thinking that insulin production should not cause fat if it were a simple case of calories in vs. calories out. Except for a few days I have a large calorie deficit everyday. I SHOULD continue to lose weight everyday, but I don't :)

I can't see any fat but sometimes it is hard to tell in a pic - just don't get so hard on yourself that you completely miss the big picture - you have done an awesome job and look really great - take time to appreciate yourself!! After all, there is no such thing as a perfect body - ask anybody who you think has one and they will tell you about all the stuff they don't like about their body! Enjoy your tea today - I love tea but unfortunately only with lots of sugar (I am from the south after all...lol)

@nikeit - Thanks! I also have a TON of Splenda in my tea. A TON. So far it does not seem to affect weight loss..

@chrisw77 - Yeah I want to get rid of the "moobs" :) That doesn't even 'sound' good... Haha

their is so much potential for growth their mate. I would start isolated muscle growth if I was you. pick a different group to work out each day and hit it hard. chest is my fav day, if location wasn't an issue I would love to get you in a gym for a day hahahaha. try doin flat bench incline bench decline bench hi cable fly's mid cable fly's low cable fly's dips push ups till failure on each once a week for three months and then post another pic

@ keith george cooke - I think I will try to get the incline bench cable fly's in. I see guys who are really in shape (proof is in the results) doing them all te time.

The trick is to work the chest from all angles mate. If you do bench fly's on the cable machine hit it from flat incline and decline 👌

The difference that is noticeable to me is the abs are not as defined. Which could still be from water weight. But after a week of being good, you should have dropped the water weight already. When I use to binge and gain it would take me all week to get rid of that weight. I’ve seen vast improvements (healing possibly) since fasting and keto for so long. Maybe it’s from being fat adapted 🤷‍♀️ Just keep up the green tea fasts. I doubt it will take a month!

@CrashtestDawnie - Only problem is I don't enjoy Green tea fasts as much as the Protein drink ones :)

@chrisw77 - I try to make the photos match! It is sooo hard ;)

well it is not about enjoyment really is it, you are determined to drop the weight and that is not generally a fun thing. frustrating for sure. are you adding the protein mix to the tea?? that would probably be odd too.

@baskington - Protein in the Tea? Ok I just tried it. Not bad, but just Meh! … ok I just put in a LOT more Splenda.. ok not bad :) Umm this is going in the wrong direction, right?
