Dropped more water today. One more week and then a 3 or 4 day fast to end the month.
216.6 lb Lost so far: 108.4 lb.    Still to go: 11.6 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Hi... sounds like you have been fasting for sometime... I need some guidance. I have been dabbling in intermittent fasting for a couple years. Now sure if I was doing it correctly or not? I lost about 20lbs and then I gained it back doing the same things... I am wanting to learn to fast for longer periods of time but not sure what if any food is taken in during a week long fast for example? So happy to see some familiar faces... hope im not intruding... thanks Christina

Twice I've done 24-hour fasts in the last year. Once on purpose, one accidentally. Wish I could do longer or more often but I just get too hungry.

I am fasting for 24 hours right now. I will normally have supper and a snack within a 4 hour window. I did this for about two weeks and didn't drop a single pound. What could I be doing to sabotage my efferts? I drink coffee black and water during my fasting but that's it? Am I supposed to keep my calories under or around 500 or should I be consuming more calories during the 4 hour eating window?

@Christina Maria Thompson - What works for me is to carefully log everything I eat. First this showed me that when I did eat I needed less than 10 carbs a day to lose weight. Later I found that HUGE amounts of protein powder would slow my weight loss. Only careful logging reveled this. Consuming 500 or 800 calories did not make a difference. Yesterday I consumed 800 calories and still lost two pounds.

Once I start eating during a 5:2 20:4...I crave sugary foods usually after I had dinner and am ready for bed. That's one of the ways I mess things up. Today is my 2nd free day and I have 0 appetite... I guess im supposed to force myself to eat today, right?

what do you normally eat when you break your fast?? foods with carbs?? if you stick to a low carb meal with a goodly amount of fat and protein that usually helps to curb the cravings. within your window you can eat twice but the best thing is to avoid carbs. once you break that habit you will be able to do longer fasting if you chose to try it. carbs cause cravings for a lot of us. Nothing wrong with eating a moderate amount but if the goal is to fast for an extended time you need to shut down the cravings or have an awesome amount of willpower

I have been logging everything here this week. I'm doing a 5:2 20:4 with my eating window from 4pm - 8pm usually. I need to lose 60 lbs any advice would be great. I am boarder line hypoglycemic which I will get dizzy sometimes but I get through it and it passes... Thanks munches, Christina
