Day 1 of a planned 5 day 'no solid food fast'

I'm tired of eating, tired of feeling 'full' and 'heavy' with food. I tried to 'control' my eating this weekend, but once again, once I eat early in the day, I keep eating throughout the day. This is how I got fat, and stayed fat all my adult life.

It is times like this that I am so thankful that I discovered Dr. Fung and fasting. Otherwise, weight loss for people like me is hopeless.

But, the good news is, I am back on the fast, finally!

My goal is to get down to 160lbs in the next two weeks. This weekend I will only have one day of eating solid food so I should not get a huge weight 'bounce back' like I got with this past three day weekend.

Have a good week!
174.0 lb Lost so far: 33.0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I love that you always have a plan and comparative analysis. My best for your fast!

I am so with you on that - once I start to eat it is really difficult to stop for the rest of the day without my eating window slamming shut on my refrigerator door! Enjoy your fast

This is a personal question and not meant to be derogatory in any way. Have you tried therapy. It seems that a few people here have done therapy with success. Do you think you are getting sufficient nutrition to sustain your long term health?

Intermittent fasting is what worked for me. If I eat early, I'm hungry all day. If I eat late at night, I'm starving in the morning. Late night snacking was another major downfall of mine. So my eating window starts at 2pm and ends at 8pm. Tames all my food demons. I might throw in a day of water fasting per week, might not but that has more to do with occasional constipation than anything else. Hope you find what works for you to maintain your loss once you get there. :)

My friend, you need to find a “new” ritual. Eating should not be one of those priorities.

sounds like you have a plan. 😀

@Kenna Morton - I don't feel I need therapy because I do not believe a person needs to eat all day long. Fasting is my way of life and is healthily. At 49 years of age, after fasting 5 days a week for months, I am able to run 5 miles in 50 minutes :) How many people can say that? :)

@LZenn - Normally, when I am not actively losing weight, I also follow a similar program of IF Intermediate Fasting. I did NOT do that this weekend and paid the price :(

@LenaBerdecia - So far today I have stuck to the fast and I intend to do an hour at the gym when I get home. Let's see what tomorrow morning looks like for both of us :) Good luck!

Yeah, this 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day' garbage was a major hurdle for me to get past. I've tried to reeducate myself and get rid of the crud I've been taught all my life. It's a journey. :)

You got this! You’ll be back to 160 in no time and then You’ll have bulk again (poor baby 😜)

@CrashtestDawnie - Thanks! Honestly, 'bulking' should be more 'enjoyable' (because I can eat Big Macs), but, I really am happier when I am not eating. Right now I am 20 hours fasted. I feel better than I have all weekend.

It makes since. Your body has learned to use itself as fuel. You add so much in bulk and it has to work so had to break it all down. I felt very sick going off Keto. Don’t know if that is just because of Ketosis or not though

I’m going off on Saturday morning again. I think I may experiment a lill after the weekend...

I'm guessing you'll be down 7 lbs

Aden— I hope you are not offended by my question. I am trying to learn as well and just wondered where / how you get your actual nutritional elements.
