Weight at 7 pm was 215.0 after waking at that weight, so looking for a loss in the morning. Posted my body fat vs. body water conundrum on Twitter and a doctor took me up on trying to figure it out. Posted the stats there and looking forward to seeing what he (or anyone) can come up with. If you are on Twitter, you can follow me at @Billlost140. (I might even get back to that number someday!) LOL

If you are a math whiz, take a shot at this:

First set of numbers is pre-dinner on 7/26. Still had a lot of extra body water then. Ate some burgers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Woke up 14 hours later and was 1.2 pounds down, but the body water vs. body fat were radically different and in a way that regular dehydration cannot answer. The Tanita is clearly wrong on one or both of these numbers, but which one and by how much?

PRE-DIN: 229.2 lbs, 17.7% BF (40.6 lbs), 59.5% water, 179.8 lean mass, 9.2 bones
WAKING: 228.0 lbs, 24.1% BF (54.9 lbs), 52.2% water, 165.4 lean mass, 8.6 bones

Weight makes sense. BF/WATER swing of 14 lbs does not! :)

PS. Denise made omelets for dinner but I am going to hold off until tomorrow at least and probably until August 1 before eating.
215.0 lb Lost so far: 110.0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

I like Dr Urso. This is exactly what I experienced with my measurements. Water% need to be the same every time you record a true and correct overall set of numbers. This leave you with a water salt challenge, with a possible need to check several times till the body is at your own set standard of Water%. Right now I am not in the right frame of mind to do this hydration challenge to get true numbers every day. But I certainly look forward to do a true check, at least monthly. Really love to get this extra feedback. There may be a way around this though. Maybe if you wake up with low Water%, you could have a glass of Sole or something, and try again in a few minutes to see if Water% is where you like it. Might just try that myself.

Nice drop, please keep us updated on the water and fat percentages relationship. I recently started focusing on body fat instead of weight...
