kingkeld's Journal, 31 July 2012

Good morning buddies and friends!

I slept like a baby! It was truly a great night's sleep, only briefly interrupted by a potty break, which was expected as I did drink water all day yesterday, all the way until 9 PM.

I drink a full glass of water every hour on the hour, to work on getting excess water buildup down.

I'm still swollen, bloated, whatever we'd call it. It looks like edema, general water fluctuations.

The good news is, I talked to my surgeon. She's gonna take a look at me tomorrow afternoon, and see if we can do anything about it here and now, either at the hospital, with medicine or if it will simply go away over time.

I really appreciate her - she's super nice and very considerate. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do - I hope there is a solution other than just waiting it out.

It's not like it's really bugging me when it comes to comfort. I mean, I used to weigh 70 kgs more than this, so I will survive. On the other hand, I can REALLY tell the difference of 6 extra kilos weighing me down. It really makes a difference, now that I have been somewhat lower, and it feels like it's a lot more.

My real concern is my skin. Quite a bit of the fluctuation settles on my stomach, and it gives me a little beer gut. That is what it is, but I REALLY don't want it stretching the skin that I just had fixed. I really don't want that to happen, if we can in any way avoid it. I hope she can help.

Today I'm down a little bit, but nothing really worth mentioning. I'll keep going as I have - it seems to be okay for me.

---

Last night I rehearsed with The Black Peanut. We played really well, and we're ready to perform live on Saturday. It's gonna be a shortened set, so I think I have the energy for it. We are playing at our drummer's wedding - and he will of course be playing the drums. :) I think more than anything, he wants to show off that he's got a cool little band going - and that's cool. It'll be fun. We even have a couple of songs arranged without drums, where he can get up and have a dance with his bride. It'll be cool.

The rehearsal went pretty well. It wasn't too straining on me, other than me of course being tired afterwards. It was a little tough both going to work and playing music on the same day, which is probably why I slept so tight. :) However, I figured that I could sit down now and then, just casually sitting on my amp, and it went fine.

...

Today, my Boss Lady is having her last day at work. She's found new challenges elsewhere. I gotta say I'm gonna miss her. I really appreciate her - she gave me a chance to get my foot in the door on a cool job, and gave me the tools to learn. I wouldn't be where I am today without her. I wish her good luck in her new job.

Wife is gonna be in charge of her going-away party at work. She's been stressing over it all week! She wants to do a good impression on this, and it's a grander scale than what she's done before. I know she can do it, though, but she gets so nervous about everything. She just wants to do well. I understand.

Today I will be at work at 8, go home at 12. Then I'll be back for the going away party at 2:30, to see Boss Lady off. It'll give me time for a breather in between, and I will probably need it. It's a good thing that work is only five minutes walk away from home.

Also, probably no work tomorrow, as I am going to the hospital. Since it's an extra thing on my surgeon's schedule tomorrow, I will probably have to wait for quite some time for her. It's okay. I gotta make myself available when she is. I understand.

...

After I finish this journal, I will spend my pre-work morning setting up my amp here at home to play some rock music, practice a few Black Peanut things that I noticed needs polishing, and of course the new BURN songs. Man, I love playing music. Every day I think my dad for showing me how fun music is. Thanks, dad!

Today I'm thankful for:
- Talking to Surgeon yesterday.
- Music!
- A good night's sleep.
- Coffee! :)

Have a great Tuesday! Life is good!

Oh, very little (if any) cake for me. Once I dig in, I don't wanna stop. It's better to simply not start. There will be cheese and fruits too, I think I'll stick to that.
