jeannieselby's Journal, 06 June 2018

So went off the rails after last weeks Oncologist appointment. AME, and then all the joys that Recovery brings. Just because I'm done with Chemo, does not mean I'm 100%, nor will I be for some time to come. Trying to make others understand that, and at the same time remember it myself before I'm worn out and in pain. What a cycle! So Happy Hmph Day everyone, and let's get through the rest of this week.

Recovery after chemo is tough, no one truly understands unless they've been through it. Give yourself time to find the "new me".. Been there still have issues related to cancer treatments. Going on 6 years since my dx, 5 years NED (no evidence if disease). Be kind to your body it's been thru a lot!💗

I haven't been on this site much, I just check calories, etc. I'm sorry I'm not sure if you're still in treatment? If do please be careful with dieting. ..

BarbieAnneP - not sure how to private message you, so responding here and hope you see it. Thanks for the encouragement. I just finished Round 6 of chemo on May 11th, so I'm done with that. I will still have to go for another CT, and blood work, etc. over the next 3 months, and then just for port flushes, and follow ups every 3 months. Congratulations on being NED! Fingers crossed that I will be as lucky. Right now I haven't been "dieting" per se with all that's been going on, just making sure I didn't gain back what I'd lost so far.

Its a hard road to haul when you have to go through so much with all the treatments, etc that has to be done. It takes a lot out of a person and sometimes it just feels better to eat what you want or what you can handle. (((Hugs))) Positive energy to you and God Bless you and keep you safe.
