Good morning all! I am learning that if I use my CPAP I wake up refreshed and actually have energy! I am working on my eating habits and drinking more water! As far as exercise, I haven't done repetition of anything, but I have been helping a friend work on making a craft room out of a big storage shed and definitely getting some exercise doing so! I could use some advice on the areas of this program that I need to navigate through first. Time is kind of a dilemma because I work 2 jobs and take care of my 73 year old mama. I do appreciate all the encouragement. As of right now I need to lose about 100lbs!

Having energy is a great thing! Keep working on your eating (even more important than exercise at first in my opinion) what help do you need? There are so many people here who have lost 100 lbs or more that have great advice! Keep up the good work?

My trainers all tell me that health comes from your nutrition to start with, so eating right will get you started, even without a lot of exercise. Also, my friend who is a gerontologist says walking is one of the best exercises - just 1 or 2 miles a day will benefit your heart health and longevity. Good luck!

A simple way to start would be just to track the foods you normally eat so you know how many calories you are taking in on average. Then start reducing processed foods and limiting your simple carbs (like added sugar, bread & pasta) to once a day or less. The goal is to start feeding your body nutrition it really needs, like protein, healthy fats and complex carbs (like fruits and vegetables). Once you are there, tweak how many calories you are taking in so you are burning more than you are taking in. There are many ways to take this journey, I hope you find what works for you!

A starting exercise plan: Walk. On trips to the grocery store or the mall - do a lap around the store before filling your cart. Work up to longer distances and faster pace.
