MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Today is the 24th of December, the "big" Christmas event day in Denmark. Tonight is when we gather our families and loved ones, and celebrate. Most people eat "flæskesteg" (pork roast) or roasted duck. Several types of potatoes, pickled red cabbage, pickles, gravy and so many other good things. Then, we have a traditional dessert called "ris a la mande", which is a rice pudding with whipped cream and chopped almonds. In the mix is put ONE WHOLE almond, and the one who gets the almond gets a special little present. It's always a game to HIDE that you have in order to make the rest of the family stuff their faces silly. Well, that's gonna change this year. I think I have learned that stuffing faces silly is generally a bad idea.

We're just gonna be Wife, Daughter and I tonight. We're REALLY looking forward to it. Since Lodger is living with us for another few weeks, then we kinda miss our solitude just being us alone. Tonight's the night for that. I have instructed Daughter to bring out her cards for some games, and just generally hang with us tonight. It'll be nice.

Then, the next days, Christmas Day and on will just be general relaxation and enjoying NOT being at work.

The weigh-in? Oh that. yeah. I got my first little Christmas present from the FatSecret Gods. I am at a new low of 81.9 kgs. Not as much as I hoped for, but I'll take it. It does make it HARD, if not impossible for me to get below 80 by New Year. Oh, well. I will get there sooner or later. I will still make the attempt though, but 1.9 kgs (4 lbs) is a LOT in a week.

I won't do a too long journal today - it's Christmas and being on the PC is NOT what I want to do today. But I have to weigh-in and a few other things before I go.

So, the single most important thing to do here today is this:

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY BUDDIES!
I HOPE YOU HAVE THE MOST AMAZING HOLIDAY!
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

I really mean thanks for everything. You guys have been there for so long, and I just love hanging out with you. I've learned so much through the last year's time, and I have changed in so many ways. I love the new me, and I love what you guys have done to me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I hope you all have a very merry Christmas, and that you get to spend it with the people you love.

Today, I am thankful
- of my family. My wonderful, wonderful family that I love above all else.
- the AWESOME omelet that Wife cooked this morning.
- having days off from work.
- Rudolph the red nosed reindeer on TV.
- ....followed by A Christmas Story.

Have a Merry Christmas, folks. Life is good.

EDIT:
Since I am mentioning the evil anti-holidays kitty in the comments below, I figured I'd post a picture so perfectly describing her not-so-cheery holiday spirits. :)
