Whew. I was SURE I wasn't gonna lose any weight today - so I am really doing better than expected. :)

Yesterday, one of my worrysome cases at work finally went from all worries to pretty good news. It's been a massive stress factor for me, and something that would even have me worrying at night instead of sleeping. So, when it all came together, and I could see a pretty clear road ahead - and it was time to make dinner - kingkeld made his famous, home made chili. It's so good, and adjusted a little to make it more weight-loss friendly with mushrooms, peppers (not hot ones) and other goodies in there along with meat, chopped tomatoes, beans and other good stuff. I literally ate a kg! lol! I was unstoppable. Then, after, I had way too much of fat free ice cream. Sure I went over board for once. I felt like it, and made a conscious choice to do so. I wanted it.

So today my stomach is pretty ticked off with me. Too much food, too much chili and all together tummy-unhappiness. It's okay. I knew this would happen from overeating.

So when I weighed in this morning, there were two surprises.

1. I have NOT gained weight from last night, but actually lost 200 grams! This is not THAT big a surprise, in the way that I didn't overeat enough to actually gain fat weight. However, I would have thought with the amount of food that I had, and it being in my system right now, I would have gained weight temporarily. Well, I am glad that I didn't! :)

2. I had to check this twice, just to make sure, but today I recorded a crazy, all time low on my body fat percentage. It's a 12.3% today, and to me that sounds crazy low! When I first started registering body fat percentage, it was at 32%, and I weight 113 kgs! In more usable statistics for me, it shows me weight loss progress when I don't see changes on the scale. When I stall for some days, I see that percentage coming down - I suppose because the fat becomes a smaller percentage over my overall weight. And of course opposite, if I drop a ton of weight overnight (like I often do after Fridays), then it goes up a little bit again.

I really recommend these smart scales, they can help giving a broader picture of what happens in your body when you lose weight. It helps you stay sane during the time where you're just not losing weight, but struggling to do so. Wife is a good example. She has lost quite some inches in the last month or two, but not a whole lot of change is seen on the weigh-in. However, the other numbers show us that things are happening (and of course the fact that the clothes is much, much looser gives it away too).

The scale that I use is simple to use (but you gotta set it up for personal use before using it first time), and pretty inexpensive. I bought it at Amazon in the UK, but I'm sure the US has a similar item.

So, today is my long long day, but it's oh, so much fun. Go to work, be there until 3:30 pm, then off to teach the kids some rock and roll and some attitude. I think I will go there early and re-string some guitars, and make a little extra dough pushing in an extra work hour.

Have a great Tuesday, my friends! Life is good!

That's great, Keld. Huge CONGRATS. I have a Tanita Body Composition scale and I love it.

I have the same scales but have not been using the fat monitor, I must get the instructions back out and give it a go. Sorry to hear about the chilli-belly.

Fantastic BF% KingKeld..... I have the same ones as Helewis - Tanita - and I love mine too. They can make you a bit obsessive about the numbers though (numbers other than pounds, I mean)

@Sk1nny: If obsessing about the numbers gets us to the goal, then obsessive we need to be. Right? :)

I need to get one of those scales I was going to ask you how you knew your numbers. Glad your stress went away yesterday, it plays havoc with weight and diet.
