Wow - another 1100 grams off since yesterday!

I'm not sure if it was simply time for the added weight to release so I could get going again, of if it was two days of ridiculously low calories that moved me forward and downwards. No matter, I am at 86.3 kgs today, only 6.3 kgs to reach my FINAL goal.

Being too low on calories is NOT recommended. It's NOT the way to go. Other than the fact that it's unhealthy to generally go lower than 1200 calories per day, I have felt funky for two days straight. I have felt that I needed "something" all the time, and just not been in my comfort zone. It's weird and kinda hard to explain. It's just been like something's been missing. I'm sure it comes from that - and of course the fact that I have had lunch and dinner salads for two days straight. That'll drive any carnivore like me nuts. My total meat intake in two days have been half a chicken breast and 50 grams of ham. :/

So today, I am back to normal schedule. I had my usual breakfast, will go have lunch out somewhere with wife, do some shopping, go meet my weight loss project guy that I will get going on losing some weight, come home, chill, have dinner, go rock out. A perfect day.

But back to the "too low on calories"-topic. I want to lose the weight but I need to do it right. It wasn't hard to go this low on calories, but it was no fun at all. I only did it because we didn't get around to shopping for food, and I had so many extra little projects through the week. I hope for more stability for now. The salad option was all I had, unless I went out to eat and here in town that is impossible unless you're okay with bread, pasta, rice or potatoes. These days, I am NOT okay with that. Besides, the affordable places here are all kebab/pizza houses, and that would kill this week's weight loss project.

In case you're wondering: Yes, I have been on the exercise bike this morning again. No, not too long. I only took 15 minutes. I just couldn't focus on it, I'm really sleepy and it's just not my thing today. know I would have liked to say I did more. Oh, well... that's life. You guys know I suck at exercise. :) I am sure I'll get plenty of exercise playing music tonight. It's band rehearsal night, and it's gonna be so much fun. Drummer boy got a new drum kit, and we're gonna rock it for the first time tonight! I hope I can get a recording of it, so you guys can hear.

So today, I reached a new low. I am now 300 grams lower than my lowest so far, and if feels great! I love recording these new lows.

I was looking at my belt this morning. I had it in hole #3 when I got it in August. Now it's in hole #6 - one I had to make myself. Yup, I am now too small for my belt. I can easily move it one hole further, but it still gives me a little too much of a "muffin top" to look right. Curse you, wobbly belly!

The skin on my stomach is getting so loose that it's gross. lol. I am really looking forward to getting rid of it. I am starting to see why people who lose a lot of weight still end up miserable if they don't fix these problems. Sure, I feel better. Sure, my blood pressure is under control. All that is great. But we have an image of how we are going to look when we are "done" doing this, when we have lost all the weight. I want to look like that image. I want to be able to wear the clothes that other people wear, all the cool summer stuff. And right now, I don't see that possible, until after the surgery.

People come up to me all the time and tell me that it looks perfect now, and that I should stop. A lady at work even told me if I had noticed that the "pot belly" is not gone. I hadn't noticed and she TOTALLY made my day! They tell me that I don't need the surgery.

However, they don't know how I look UNDER the clothes. I have to wear somewhat loose clothes to hide the deflated stomach. I know, I know, I have seen them MUCH worse than mine on TV. However, that doesn't change the fact that I am bothered by mine. I'm happy that I can get this fixed, and I can't wait to get it done. I know it'll be a very painful operation (or so they tell me), but I think I am up to the challenge of doing it. Between the pains of a severe back injury a few years back, and a car crash that left me black and blue pretty much everywhere - and especially on my chest and stomach - I think I am ready for it. It's painful, but it's voluntary and I believe it's worth it.

So today is Friday, and the end of a crazy busy week. I can't wait for work to be over - and I think I will be skipping out early! - and for the fun to begin. I have no plans whatsoever for the weekend, and I think that I need a weekend like that. Movies and shows are lined up, and it's gonna be full chill all the way.

Life is good!

15 minutes is better than 0 minutes. Sometimes I only do 15 or 20 minutes, because I just don't feel in the mood. It's more about establishing a routine, so it becomes the 'norm'. Amazing, another new low :-).... I think your Funky feeling and lack of motivation, to "get on your bike", is probably because of your 2 days of low calories... I am sure you will pick up today ... Have a good time with your band :-)

Interesting comments about the skin, I have the same. Do you think there's a chance it will fix itself over time?

Isn't that great when you can see your progress simply by looking at a belt hole? Yesterday I tried on my favorite jeans that were always tight around the thigh area, and they were baggy!!! That in itself means more to me than what the scale says, because honestly the scale is starting to bug me, it hardly moves!

@Jen - I love that my pants constantly get too big. It's kinda pricy to keep buying new clothes, but it's all worth it. @Helewis - I think the skin topic kinda divides people in two camps. Some claim that it can happen, but you have to lose a LOT of weight, as the skin "hangs" because there is still a little bit of fat on the "inside" of the skin and this is what keeps it from pulling back in to place, and then the other camp that simply says it won't adjust. I don't really know what to think, or who to trust. For me, I get the offer to "just get it tone and over with", and I figure that I will help it on it's way. Hopefully the rest will adjust over time. The surgery doesn't make everything perfect, but it WILL help a lot.

Im in limbo about the skin thing... Ive had 3 9lbs+ babies, Lost 45lbs since my last baby, and my belly skin has shrunk alot- but I have the same deflated flab that Im sure K is talking about, my breasts are NOT happy with the loss- gross! I dont think it will all ever go back for ME...genetics, age all play a roll in our skins elasticity just as aging and how your face ajusts to getting old. Genetics are funny, some people loose a ton of weight, have huge babies and still have tight firm skin- bitches I say! Some like me, not so lucky, but I have aged well in my face, and that makes the latter a little more tollerable :) So K - Get the surgery, deal with the pain, and look FABULOS and strut your stuff on the beach this summer. I think you should document your surgery post op and pre op as well, We'd all be very interested in your progess!

Go for the surgery if you can afford it! I did it Oct. '10 and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. Incidentally - I "only" lost 50 lbs and I've only had two babies. Yep, genetics. There was no way that skin was going to go anywhere. I'd gained and lost weight before but this last time was it. Must have used up all the elasticity I had left in my body. Was it painful? Holy Mother of God was it! Would I do it again? Hell yes! In a heartbeat. I'd do it tomorrow morning if I had to. Things are not perfect and I still have skin issues in spite of the surgery. But is it livable? Oh yes! I had the full "mommy makeover" and have never been happier. I know you're a guy, but you've lost a lot of weight. I seriously doubt that skin is going to snap back. And I'm with saraduke - some lucky people were blessed with great skin and elasticity (bitches). lol
