Well done! Drinking is a hard habit to break 😞 I know, I enjoy it too! It's just a matter of keeping it within limits.

I drink wine like a fish as well, this last month I have really been trying to keep it to weekend nights. So far I have mostly accomplished it and two weeks in it has gotten easier. Still crave it sometimes, almost drove to the store to get some last night but I resisted and I am happy for it today. Good luck, it is very difficult but doable. :)

Good job. I have a beer issues. I love beer. I love craft beers which should just be called a bunch of calories in a bottle and before I know it I am at my days worth of calories just in beer. My biggest issue is on weeks I drink and lose, I feel like I can do it the next week too. Bad idea. I can drink like a fish too. I can keep it in limits on what days I drink but the days I drink I dont stop till I hit the hay. The last time I didn't drink for 4 months ( just because no reason behind it ) I lost 30lbs with no other diet change. I have to always remind myself of that. Glad no one has told you to get help. Lots of time you mention alcohol ppl auto reply you need to seek help. I hate that. Not all adults that drink are alcoholics. Your doing great. If you can do no wheat and vegetarian then you deserve a glass a wine. Congrats. ( I could do one or the other but never both hats of to you )

In case it helps your motivation, I read somewhere that when you drink alcohol, it gets sent to your liver for processing, and your liver turns it straight into fat! I think the intoxication must be from the alcohol that your liver can't process quickly enough, lol. Of course the 'toxic' part in there, means poison, so alcohol really does mean poisoning yourself, and getting fat. *Laughing!* I still do it though, it is fun, lol! But I have pretty much given up drinking at home now, and try to limit social occasions, and also try to drink lots of water with, or even IN the wine! (But I am getting old and boring, lol!)

Thanks for your thoughts downs82, I have to remind myself too when I drop a whole bunch of weight when I stop drinking and I feel so good when I'm not drinking but then temptation calls or you want to join your friends when you're out and about, but I have also visited bars and such while not drinking and I usually end up drinking red bull or some other energy drink that usually does the trick plus they assume it's alcohol since they usually put it in a glass and that usually keeps them from asking why are you drinking? I just don't think ppl should judge, but I guess it just comes easily for some, yes, I do drink but I'm doing better at it now, I limit myself and I do admit that I had a problem in the past when I did drink till I passed out but it's all under control now. I think I might give my liver a break again though, I want to be dedicated to my goal, summer is coming up and I want to get my bikin on lol :)

Yes, I've also read what alcohol does to your body, it's in the back of my mind just before I take that first sip and start thinking I'm going to regret this but then it just goes over my head once I start but say I'll do better tomorrow I'll eat and drink healthy the next day. I do both drink at home and when I'm out, I think I drink more when I'm at home more because I could just pass out wherever lol it sucks what we do to our bodies but I guess it is what it is, hopefully as time passes I'll realize that my health means more to me that the glass.

I take milk thistle, 2 pills 3x a day if I am drinking or not, it is just a part of my daily vitamins. It probably doesn't help that much, but it sure doesn't hurt. My mom has Hep C. and takes it and her doctor is always amazed on her liver enzymes, so I figure it has to do a little good. I think of it as apologizing to my liver lol
