I lost a couple of hundred grams again today - not as much as I was hoping for, but better than nothing.
I keep peeking at my weigh-in from last Saturday - since I am now on a weekly plan with my moderated spike diet, I'd REALLY like to end this week lower than I was one week ago - or I feel that I will not have lost any weight. Trouble it, I think I won't make it. I would have to lose 800 grams until tomorrow. However there are a couple of things attached to this:
1. It HAS happened before - I have lost much more than 800 grams from one day to another - ESPECIALLY on Saturday mornings. Though unlikely, all hope to complete this little mission is not lost.
2. I am thinking that the 95.5 kg weigh-in from Saturday that I keep putting myself up against was a fluke. I had lost 5.3 kgs (11 lbs!) that week, and obviously that wasn't all fat. I'm thinking that I probably started that week high on retaining water, and ended it low on retaining water. Since I did the first spike day, my body probably just started letting go of all the water that was built up.
If that's the case, then I can better deal with the fact that I didn't lose anything.
Besides, I am STILL not in a hurry. It's the long haul that counts, of coruse. I just love to see the results of what I'm doing - don't we all?
Yesterday was a weird day. I was in a strange mood, and though I had a great day at work with a couple of accomplished missions, I was just feeling besides myself.
I've had stomach aches for a few weeks, and trouble doing #2. I think the psyllium husk I'm taking is screwing with my digestion system, so I'm gonna quit taking it.
Anyways: It's Friday, I'm rockin' with my band tonight and it'll be tons of fun as always!
Life is good!

Morning Kingkeld... I think it must have been a "fluke" weigh in last week...so you are setting yourself a really tough target..... That being said, I know how you feel.. You understandably want to beat it, or at least equal it. I admire your patience and determination to "stick with it" to give it a chance :-). Glad life is still good, have a great time with your band tonight - I know you will lol.

...and I did it! :) You know, it's been tough to NOT see too much weight coming off this last week after a SUPERB first week. But I keep telling myself to give it time, and that I really can't determine whether this new approach will work or not until I have given it a while to work/settle/give-in or whatever it is that it needs to do. The body works much slower than our minds - at least that's my experience. We're impatient creatures and when we change something, we want the results yesterday, and that's just not how it works. So I keep telling myself to try to enjoy the spike days, live life a little, go eat a pizza and a chocolate bar, and just take it easy. I'm in no rush - I'm eons ahead of my "schedule" (Which was 110 lbs in a year, and I have now lost 132 in 10 1/2 months) and can take the time I want. It's nothing but pride and stubbornness that tells me that this isn't going fast enough. But of course, when I see no change in a month, I had to do something. Now things are happening again, and that's all I need. Or so I try to tell myself. :)
