That tree trunk directly in front of my patio is a young water oak, and I throw out seeds on the ground around it for the squirrels and birds. Very convenient for them, and a quick getaway if anything threatens.

When we had that homeless guy living with us for 2-1/2 years, he would buy unsalted peanuts in the shell and put them out for the squirrels, who got to where they would be waiting for him and would almost come up to his hand to get them.

Haha! I'm thinking that's probably not going to happen Tim. In my other life, when I lived in a house, we had lots of squirrels and other critters, but they all remained nameless.

I buy peanuts at the feed store for the squirrels and blue jays. Even the tiny titmouses love them. I pour them into an old dog food dish on the deck and just watch as everyone comes to eat.
