Another pound down! Only 2 pounds to go to get back to pre-holiday weight.

You think I'd be thrilled - but no, there is a big mental hurdle to get past. I still have to 12 pounds to lose to get back to my 2012 low. How could I have gotten so close to my goal and then blow it?

OK - so I am good and mad at myself. Will convert that anger to motivation and move ahead. Cannot walk forward while looking backwards.




Diet Calendar Entry for 25 January 2014:

That last sentence rocks! Turn the negativity into positivity. You just lost 12 lbs, Buffy! Your weight is going back down. You have to feel good about that! Several of us blew it during the holidays ... and look at us now!!! We are warriors!!!! Roarrrrrrrrrr!

Buffy..you have to look at the fact your on the right track...and that you didn't gain all the weight back..I agree with MOPM 100%...Your doing great...:O)

Bren - Oh my - you have no idea of the mental picture that just flashed through my mind. You are right - I could have gained back all 57 pounds. Yikes!!!

Love your "Cannot walk forward while looking backwards". Absolutely. I ate and drank a little too merrily over the holidays too which, predictably, I paid the price for afterwards. I've found it a really good reminder of just how astonishingly FAST the weight comes back when I stop paying attention. I reckon that, feeling so much slimmer, I got a bit complacent. Now tackling the last 20 lbs in earnest! *Roar*!

Startrekker - I can hear you roar! It is just not fair how fast we can gain back those unwanted pounds. But life isn't fair, so that is why we have to be strong. Let's all roar!

I hear you on the frustration of allowing some weight to come back on - been there, done that, BUT forward we go. RRRROAR!

Ruth - one pound at at time indeed. Seems slow but if someone could lose 1 pound/week, that we be a loss of 52 pounds a year! And even I don't want to lose that much.
