Good news, but limited. Our daughter's Pet Scan showed no new bone lesions (breast cancer spread to the bones) and none of the lesions lit up the Pet Scan. Her Oncologist told her she is in remission. That's great BUT I need to tell somebody, so it's going to be you because I'm SURE not going to tell her: the head of Oncology at UCLA told me a year ago when she had a period of lesions not lighting up the Pet Scan, that she DOES have "active" cancer. Seems it is a matter of terminology. Of course we are thrilled that there are no new bone lesions at this time and the new chemo is working, for now. Her doctor, out of Cedar Sinai, said she would need to take chemo the rest of her life, and most of them work for about 2 years, and then you have to switch. This one is the last one in pill form, but if it works for 2 years, maybe they'll have a new one. I don't know what her numbers are, that's different testing. But it's good news anyway. She does have quite a bit of pain, between the bone lesions and fibromyalgia but she does seem pretty strong. It's been 2 years this has been going on. Eating window 8 hours.
