This is interesting because the Keto strips do not show me much for ketones even though I feel like I am. I have been doing Keto for over 6 months so I feel I am adapted. I was wondering why my strips were not correlating to how I felt.

Hey Kmking, Isleham I'm new at this so I don't know. The strips have me in the middle ranking. I'm getting obsessed losing weight I expect delivery of the blood ketone meter this week. Do you drink tons of water? I drink 10 eight oz glasses a day. My mouth is always dry with chapped lips, that's one sign. I have so much energy I wish I could bottle it and sell it lol that's another sign. Then there is the cognition factor my mind is clearer than its ever been.
When do you test? They advise first thing in the morning. I tested when I got home with the strips at 2:30pm. My carbs are under 20, what are yours?
Best of luck

If I test, I test in am usually but usually trace or mild lately. I do not get dry mouth anymore but I can tell when I am higher levels Keto. I do drink some water but not enough usually. My energy is great. I will fast in the morning more days then not . I use to need to eat in the morning or get weak and dizzy. That never happens anymore.

I also have the dry mouth and chapped lips. Didn’t realize that was part of ketosis. I test in the morning and evening around dinner time. I always test higher in the evening. Not sure why that is. I’m definitely in full blown ketosis. Started my diet last Monday (1 week ago). Lost 9 lbs so far. Not too shabby! I’m just happy I’m losing before Christmas. This way my weight won’t be so off the charts come January. Oh and one more thing....I’m definitely feeling a surge of energy. That also makes me happy! Have a great week peeps!

I've been on keto for about 8 months. I bought the strips early on and they always showed high ketones. After about 4-5 months they started to show moderate or even low ketones for the reason you stated. Once you are fully adapted your body uses up the ketones for energy and they will no longer show up in your urine in large quantities. So once you are fully adapted the urine testing is not reliable...my lips and mouth are not dry but I do drink vast quantities of water.
