Woke at 243.5, up 1.7 from yesterday. Long day with a large late meal. Back home now and trying to get my body back on track. What I've realized is that calorie 'burn' has almost nothing to do with weight loss for me. I got tons of exercise during my El Paso trip but that did not mitigate the additional calories and carbs.

I can totally relate to your predicament. There is no one size fits all plan. I have to eat right and exercise both to lose. And it is really hard on my body because when I was younger the more I exercised the less I wanted to eat. And I can't just eat now when I want to or what works for me. I have to feed hubby what he can and will eat and am too tired to fix 3 separate meals and 3 separate snacks for both of us with everything else I have to do. It works best for me to eat lean protein and a lot of salad with raw veggies. Doesn't work for him. So he wins out as he is sick. He loves and wants carbs.

Best of luck with it, Tish. Thanks, Liv! It was great. I was able to deepen many relationships.

All I know is that the older I get, the harder it is to lose weight.

When we travel and eat elsewhere I take on too much sodium. Maybe your weight gain was just from different food.

Calorie burn is what it's all about. Make absolutely sure you are counting fairly on both sides of the ledger. Your body knows! GL

Thanks, everyone. It definitely was extra sodium and calories.

Maybe try boosting your metabolism with some kind of strength training. Once your metabolism is up, you can afford to eat more calories. Eating out frequently bumps up the calories, usually.
