I had a good day with my wife at Middletown Heritage Festival. Lots of crafts, food, music, and historical demonstrations and people dressed in period clothing, from colonial times through the various wars and time periods. Had a very interesting conversation/learning time with a couple guys who had a tent set up with medical and apothecary stuff from colonial times thru the civil war period. It makes me very thankful for modern medicine and also wonder what the medical field might be like 100 years from now. I gave in to some kettle corn and part of a piece of cheesecake but had a light dinner so overall calories are in line for the day at least. We ended the evening just before dark with a nice long walk.
Tomorrow morning we'll be driving to Buffalo for our grandson's 3rd birthday party. Will be coming back home the next morning so it'll be a very quick trip, lots of driving and sitting. I'll do as best I can with food, bring some stuff with me...still doing damage control from vacation so I'd like to avoid being set back again. Still working on getting back to pre-vacation weight.
