So, I am a happy camper. I've made a lot of progress and seem to be getting to where I want to be. I see all the comments on weighing your self, but if you are serious about working toward a healthy body you have to measure your body. I will show you the folks I use, details below in cluding my measurements. Please let me know how you feel about the need to measure yourself; I track a few measurements not included in the calculators below as well, pls feel free to mail me or buddy me if you want any help or want to discuss -thanks, Neal 51

So - this is the url of the site that I use for recording measurements; it includes five differnet measurement calculators. I have no interest in the site. Let me know if you use it and how it works for you.

About the Body Fat Calculator:
Metric versions of the calculators available here:

How much fat are you carrying? Find out if you are in the healthy range with this fat calculator. This tool provides: body fat percentage for women, body fat percentage for men. This body fat calculator is based on the body fat algorithms developed by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corp and the YMCA.

Don't have all these measurements? Use this shorter form Body Fat Calculator.

Are you male or female?

20.02 % using the U.S. Marine body fat algorithm, or
18.89 % using the U.S. Navy body fat algorithm, or
15.00 % using the formula developed by the YMCA.

There are many different ways of tracking progress. Some people do nothing but weigh themselves in once a week at the gym. It just depends on what works for you.

You're absoluotely right, eKatherine.
I think what I find so postive about tracking my body's measurements is that it is not abstract like body weight. When you lose a half inch off your waist or hips (or thighs and biceps, which I also track) you know you are making progress that you can see in a mirror. I only check once in a while, and I actually record the progress in my journal on F/S so I have a handy place to store it. I am still a long way from a six-pack, but for me it gives some quantification to my progress that's a little more refined than jsut weight.

Same as me. try to keep the fat low, high proteins but all the carbs I need especially when I am headed to the gym; in teh gym four or five times a week w/ cardio and weight machines. try and go before work every day.
