looking for a weekly buddy

Hi. Lorna here, middle aged woman.

I'm on a balanced food pyramid eating plan, losing 1/2 pound per week for the past 3 months, planning to keep losing for a year more, and not ever really "going off" the diet after I'm to my goal size. After a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, this seems to me the only chance I have to keep it off--to lose slowly and take the time to change habits permanently.

I'm doing this mostly for my health. I don't like that many people judge each other on body size, so the whole appearance motivator isn't important to me.

What I'd like is someone of a like mind to exchange weekly messages with, like, "You still hanging in there? Anything been challenging? Good for you!" Since I have such a long haul ahead of me, the weekly commitment to mutual encouragement seems helpful...but I don't want to bore non-dieting friends with the topic or join a big group.

Message me if this sounds like your ideal approach, too.

A few of us have started a small group, (started a week or so ago, we're only up to nine members) It's called Progress, not Perfection - I think you search for us by that. It started out as middle aged women with 25-50 pounds to lose, but we've got a few ladies that have more than that to lose that joined because they liked us Smile and we like them too. Most of us end up posting daily, for accountability, but you wouldn't have to if you didn't want to, and the support has been wonderful. Check us out if you like, it's not a private group so you can read through the messages before you decide to join, or you can just lurk if you like Smile

PS - don't forget the comma - I just checked and if you don't include the comma your search comes up empty. Just go to Community tab, select Groups, and you can search for us there.

Accepting Request to Follow
Hmmm. I have mine set up to automatically accept follow requests. Perhaps if you go into Settings and change your preference to automatically approve follow requests it will allow those you have to go ...

Im hanging in there but have read about someone losing 77lb in 3 months. I just wonder how that was done. Mine looks miserable compared to that.
