How am I supposed to get new buddies...

From what I've read, your tiredness might be what's called the "atkins flu" On Atkins.com, it's recognized as a typical response to the initial low carb part of the program, but doesn't have to occur if you follow a couple of rules. Drink at least 2 cups of chicken broth each day, as loss of sodium could be the reason; drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day - this is critical; and take a good multi-vitamin. All these suggestions helped me. Also, calories aren't critical in this initial phase, as long as you don't go "hog-wild."

Tiredness is greatly improved. It last two long days but by the next day I was much better. Still have weakness in muscles but I've had that so long i figure it will take some exercise to get strong again.

dorindam59 how are you doing on Atkins now? are you still following it? I started it about 2 months ago and followed it strictly for about 6 weeks. I was so tired all the time and frustrated at the small variety of foods available after that length of time. I never got to the gym once in that 6 weeks and I still feel like i'm trying to drag my motivation out again.

You can do it - don't give up! The key for me is to relentlessly weigh and measure everything I put in my mouth. And log it completely honestly. And bulk up all my meals with lots of veggies.
