my mom bought this new trail mix and it has all sorts of goodies in it. although this trail mix is good for you i have a habit of eating like 3 cups of it! so i think the best thing to do is stay away from it. i just had 3 cups and it totally blew my workout from earlier

I made the mistake once of eating a cup of trail mix before reading the serving size. Yikes, some have a lot of calories!

I do a lot of hiking and trail mix is great for that but horrible for dieting and weight loss. Too much fat, too many carbs, and practically impossible to eat just one serving. If you're trying to lose I would avoid the trail mix until you are into a maintenance phase.

It is very easy to get carried away with trail mix and it's just like "candy" in many ways. I have to be very careful of portion size and make my own and put it in a baggie to control quantity eaten. If you use nutrient rich items to make it up a little goes a long ways. Discipline is not one of my strong suits. Smile
Many times just almonds alone are a good choice but sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, raisins,dried apricots, dried blueberries are all good.
Unfortunately the dried fruit gets a bath in HFC "high fructose corn syrup" during processing so be careful there. Key is to work hard on the trail and balance it out with the trail mix. Remember if you are moving, you are lapping the people sitting on the couch.

I agree that it is best to stay away from foods that trigger you to eat more than a serving size.

I got a big goodie basket with deli type food for Christmas. There was a lot of stuff there that I would just inhale. I tried to be rational about it, but after one evening when I ate a whole bag of chips - I put all the rest from the basket in trash. Maybe it's a terrible waste to put food in trash, but better in trash than in my body. I am not a garbage can either!

I thought of taking some of the goodies to my office, but then - that is hypocritical too. I don't like when other people put food I don't want to eat under my nose - I don't want to do the same thing to them either.

I think it's great when you realize what the problem is. Then you are much closer to figuring out the solution. Good luck!

Feature Request - Add CUSTOM MEALS to the REMINDERS
I added 2 custom meals (Protein shakes) and I wanted to set reminders for 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. The reminders only have the hard coded meals available to set reminder times. Thank you.
