No soda challenge

Having a good week... Haven't had any sodas!! But I do like my ice tea. Taking baby steps to a healthy life style. Need supportWink It is hard. I really want to drop some weight by summerWink

I wish you luck in dropping the soda habit. I did it in January and it was hard, but I did it. I was drinking 4 16 oz bottles of soda a day and gradually cut down. I still have a diet Coke when I go out to eat (usually once a week), but vow to NEVER bring soda's in the house again. So far, so good.

I myself know I will never give up diet soda completely.....although I seemed have cut back to only 1-2 a day, most days, which seemed impossible when I was up at over 6 a day! Good for you and stay strong! Every good week meansa small success. A string of small successes means you meet your goal!

You all are doing so well!!! I never wanted to quit smoking when people told me how bad it was for me, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record......

It takes 33 eight ounce glasses of water to neutralize the amount of acid in one 16 ounce soda. And diet soda is the worst. Not only is it horribly addictive but 10% of artificial sweeteners is actually the same chemical makeup as paint thinner.

We all have our vices. It's so inspiring to see that people are making healthy choices, even if it's a cut-back. Kellkel- you got it right! Small string of successes helps you meet your goal! That's totally going on my facebook as my quote of the day Smile

I to was a soda addict- and when you go off of the sodas the HEADACHE begans. LITERALLY! I haven't had a soda in eight days, and no headaches or anything now. I feel so much better! I would wake up and drink a soda, carrry one around all day, take one to bed with me it was rediculous. I am proud of myself, it's not easy but it is sooo worth it. I tryed hint water (foodcity has it) and it has been a life saver for me. I love it!

Gave up all soda (drank a bunch of diet) in January 2012 and have not had too hard a go at it... Still drink coffee morning, noon and most nights ( about 44 oz a day total ) so I still get my caffeine fix.

I carry crystal light with me everywhere and have it at meals but use about half a pack per 14oz fluid ... Eventually am going to switch to all Stevia as my "non-sugar" sweetner of choice .... I just am working thru the Nutrasweet and Splenda stock I had built up. Also will be switching to the Stevia version of Crystal Light

Usually I dont drink soda so I'm good on that but! just a couple of days ago I had a sprite... caught me by surprise. 1st becasue I dont like sprite, 2nd becasue I told myself I wouldn't drink soda while I'm trying eat healthier!!

My job gives us free snacks and drinks so it's very tempting. Must think of water only =D
