Does anybody have some suggestions for rewarding myself that don't involve FOOD. I was thinking maybe a nice new expensive handbag (love handbags), but I can't think of anythingelse and I realize I do really well when I have a reward at the end but for much of my life I was rewarding myself with FOOD FOOD FOOD or other UNHEALTHY rewards.

Spa treatments are a perenial favorite- massage, pedi or facial. Or a fabulous new clothing item. I have in mind a pair of designer jeans (since I have never owned a pair). I tend to like things that go with the "new" me- maybe splurge on a haircut at a really nice salon or go for some color or highlights? You could also do a weekend getaway with someone special or some other activity that you've been wanting to do, like tickets to a show or concert. Whenever you think "I'd like to get/do _____ someday," write it down and then use one for your goal (or for several smaller goals along the way).

When I chose my "I'm Done"-reward, it was important that it was meaningful to me, and it was something that would last a lifetime - to signal that my weight loss better last a lifetime too.

I chose a new, way superior bass guitar, as this is my favorite instrument to play. I got it already, I feel that I am done. I just need the last bit of weight loss to satisfy a surgeon who is gonna take care of my loose skin.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

I'm with gnat on the spa treatment - mmmm total relaxation and being spoilt. Maybe a piece of jewellery - earrings or a necklace. Or how about sexy /pretty undies - they would make you feel really good Smile

Definitely spa-related. I'm getting a pedicure for my 10 pound loss reward and I'm hoping to do it this week. Then a watch - nothing fancy- at the 15 pound point. Finallly ... really nice jeans for my final goal. Kingkeld: congrats on that new guitar!! I always wanted a Gibson 12 string acoustic. Maybe if I can keep the weight off for a year I'll splurgeSmile

I just decided I would be buying a gorgeous Caroline Neron necklace... they are made with sparkling swarovski crystal... oh so shiny but pricey.

Hahaha I just can't wait now that I have decided what I'd be getting Smile

My long term goal reward is going to be a new Coach bag! I love them so hopefully it will be a good motivator for me and it will give me time to save up the money!

my suggestion might be a bit too extreme for some, but to me it was very inspirating experience.
what i did for myself as a reward ( yesterday ) was:
NAVEL PIERCING!
when you think about it,
it's the first step if you have always been too afraid to show your stomach to anyone to go and to show it off to piercing artist.
secondly, it will inspire you to continue, because the best way to make piercing look pretty is to lose weight, right? ~
so get yourself something that will inspire you to continue.
here i am, in half way to my goal and this was my ideal reward. extreme or not, i like it.
at least it's a bit different, and the feeling is great since you have all your life been thinking
" one thing i can never have is navel piercing, because i have too much fat in my stomach "
( says me, girl who used to be 200lbs. haha! )

Anwoo, that's too funny! I got my navel pierced as a reward the first time I lost weight. (almost 4 years ago). When I had to take it out, it was one of my signals to myself that I'd let my weight go too far back the other direction.
As far as the other rewards- I think a spa is a great idea. But you have to choose something that will make you feel amazing, no matter what it ends up being. I've set rewards for each of my mini goals (like no cheating on my diet for a month) and they all add up to an outfit I've been wanting forever. If you've worked this hard for something, why not do the things you'd always said you wanted "someday." THIS IS YOUR SOMEDAY.

My next reward is hopefully when I reach my goal, even though that will probably take me the better part of the year. I am putting money aside to go on a shopping spree. I am trying to save $100/month, so that I can get whatever I want in my new size. I have enough clothes in various sizes to get me down 2-3 more sizes, but after that I will need a new wardrobe. I have mini goals but no rewards for those - dropping 10 lbs and hitting the next number set (140s, 130s...) is a reward in itself for me.

I like to get new workout clothes for myself. New clothes are always fun, and if they help me get to the gym more (and they do), even better.

@ just.keep.swimming: I loved what you said about this being our SOMEDAY.

I am looking forward to buying a sweet dress to wear to my son's graduation in June. And, of course, seeing my highschool sweetheart is a great motivator too! lol

I was also thinking of getting a purse! I'm the kind of person who carries the same bag pretty much every day, so I may as well get a nice one. But I'm not quite so comfortable dishing out the $ for the one I really really want. So instead of just getting it because I want it, I'm going to to make it a reward for finally doing what I've always wanted to do--making my lifestyle a more active one.

If you're into fashion like me, then I think it would be a GREAT motivator to not buy anything for yourself unless it's an award for an achievement. So yeah...I love the purse idea!

Oohh, I like the spa idea. As for the purse, you should look at some resale shops. It's amazing the number of designer bags people get rid of that look like new.
