Hi everyone,

I used to be on FS a while ago but fell off the band wagon. Last year I decided to quit smoking and gained a lot more weight in a year (on an already heavier than comfortable frame). I've hit a new high and I'm actually kind of scared so here I am!

I would really like to have some buddies to communicate with on here so that I can have (and give) some support.

Thanks everyone!

I would love to be your buddy! I quit smoking, with the help of Chantix, in Feb of 2010. I have put on about 55 lbs since then, and it seems that food became the new vice. Good luck to you, and so glad that you made the decision to live a healthier life!

I will be your buddy. I also quit smoking and gained weight. It has been a while ago, but haven't gotten really serious about loosing the weight until recently. Quitting smoking is a hard thing to do...Congrats. Loosing weight is a hard thing to do too, but hopefully with FS and being accountable for what we are eating and how much we exercise, it will help us. My support is only a keystroke away.

Thanks!! I got married in May and tried to do Slim Fast before the wedding but fell off that band wagon pretty hard. I wondered why it was pretty easy for my to quit smoking but I couldn't diet (I super love food and eating it). I realized that it was easier to quit smoking than quit eating becausae I'd been eating a lot longer than smoking, lol.

I need some buddie too! It's so hard to stay motivated! I live with my BF who is constantly in the fridge at home! Just makes me want to see what's in there myself! haha.

Just sent you a request Reg! I totally understand how you feel. My husband constantly talks about how he needs to lose weight, how heavy he's gotten, and how he needs to be more active. However, the minute I go shopping his first question is "did you get anything sweet?". Oy vay.

btw, congrats on your weight loss! It's amazing that you had that kind of determination before even coming here.

OMG my BF too!! I made him a salad for lunch and he came home with food from the taco shop for dinner! then made a sandwich afterwards!! It's so hard. I am trying to be good. He's all muscle and can drop his extra weight as soon as he goes back to the gym. Not me! I work out every single day and only 2 oz are gone. I swear I gain weight the moment I even THINK or look at food! haha.

It's definitely seemed that way for me recently too. I didn't think I was eating all that bad but I must have been mistaken because I sure gained a lot of weight!
